I'm useably too lazy to cook, so I like the idea of a robot chef. But this sounds also super dystopian to me. Like in Cory Doctorow's Unauthorized Bread.
Literally came here to mention Unauthorized Bread 🙂

My first thought as well.

This isn’t *that* new of an idea, meal-kit subscription aside.
I bought a house in 2009 and during that process, was shopping for all new kitchen appliances. I can’t remember the brand – probably Samsung or LG – but I remember looking at a crazy expensive microwave with a wired barcode scanner dongle. The idea being the microwave would scan the barcode of whatever you wanted heated, look up the product via that barcode (whether it had an onboard database of common microwavable foods or connected to a home network, I do not recall), learn its recommended reheating temperatures, and start itself accordingly. I also do not remember the price, other than my guffaw at how expensive it was at the time.
