I apologize for the ignorance but I haven’t played a call of duty game in YEARS. Like 2-3 years ago I was told to download this one to play “warzone”. I’ve been feeling like picking up call of duty again but I am unsure if it still online and active since it says it’s from ps4.
Then I see other games like modern warfare 3 on the store so I’m wondering which one is the one everyone is playing online (on the newest consoles)?

Mw19 multiplayer is still online and active. But if you’re looking for warzone you have to do it through the newer cods or the main cod HQ game thingy. I don’t fully understand how their new games work/are organized.
If you want to play battle royale this is the wrong game, they shut down this Version. The multiplayer is still active tho.
Regarding the warzone aspect, it isn’t playable anymore as it got shut down. However, if you played OG warzone in 2019, this game will feel very familiar because it uses OG warzone engine
A large majority of players swap to the newest COD release. But every game usually manages to build a cult following. I recommend giving MW19 a try as in my opinion it’ the best modern call of duty weve had and its the one i play primary. I mostly play free for all and find it pretty easy to find lobbies
You don’t have to worry about it being the PS4 version because the game is crossplay, meaning it’ll connect you with people from every console.
Co-op is absolutely dead, spent 5 hours last night matchmaking and cant even find 1 full lobby
