I’ve bought cpus from aliexpress,if it’s a we’ll known seller you will have no issues

Saw 7500f with such picture on description on AliExpress, even with discounts and coupons, was ok. I had one, a friend bought 10+ to resell locally. 7700 and 9600x was ok too. 7800x3d bought only once, for the lowest price for a long period of time, was ok too. It’s information about 2-3 months ago, I believe nothing changed from that time. The main rule is to find the seller with a good score and a big number of sold cpus.

Gamers Nexus did coverage of AMD CPU Scam recently, go watch it at youtube.

Every cpu with the same label should have the same layout. One of them is not a 7800x3D

Who the hell are they trying to bluff? It took less than five mins for me to pull up the chip architecture schematics to see that these chips are not equal in terms of power or actual chip hardware. Shame on AMD. From what I can tell the chip on the left hand side doesn’t use the same architecture as other X3D chip variants it’s def. inferior.
No Zen 4 AM5 CPU ever used the top positions, so AMD deleted them.

It’s a scam. GN made a video about this. There’s no CPU die in them, just an empty PCB glued to an IHS.

The first one I mounted a couple of weeks ago was legit and missing the upper pads. Cb23, Cpu-z scores etc were perfectly in line with a regular 7800x3D, that particular CPU only held all core -20CO, tho.
I have another equal one for myself, I should fire it up tonight if I manage. Both from Amazon Italy, not from 3rd parties.

It’s fine.
I had the same with my 7700 AliExpress and that worked 100% fine and showed as correct on CPU-Z, the BIOS and during various benchmarks (expected performance).

Why did they ever have the top pads, if they supposedly didn’t use them? Further, the bottom side pads are different – why?

My 7800x3d is the one on the right. Stepping B2 and has the pads. December 2023. Does -30 negative offset at LLC 1 on both.

It’s true, I have a legitimate 7800x3d off aliexpress with no top pads 👍

AMD changed the packaging (added a second facility) quite late in the 7800X3D’s life. This image is **completely correct**. I’ve seen both and built with both. The fakes [usually have](https://www.techpowerup.com/326193/fake-amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d-processors-used-to-scam-buyers-in-the-p2p-market) the top empty pads. If you view the pads which *are* in use, all of those are present and in use on the newer substrate.

This looks ok, but there a fake 9800X3D CPUs. The german c’t has an article about his: [https://www.heise.de/news/Vollstaendig-gefaelschte-CPUs-jetzt-auch-als-Ryzen-9800X3D-10455073.html](https://www.heise.de/news/Vollstaendig-gefaelschte-CPUs-jetzt-auch-als-Ryzen-9800X3D-10455073.html)
There are honest sellers in China. I don’t buy it, I go to the store and buy it. There are also many fake products.
Yes it’s genuine, later 7000 series batches no longer have the empty pads.
Yea I’ve got 2 AM5 cpu’s they both look like each of your examples.
