    Something similar happened during the internet’s early days, but obviously this is so much more intense due to the conversational nature of these tools.

    The key is, as *always*, education. Teaching people that no matter how these tools *appear* to have sentient qualities, it’s all a fancy parlor trick. It’s a phenomenon that’s been happening since ELIZA in 1966:

    People are projecting things into LLMs that aren’t there because they don’t understand what LLMs are or what their limitations are.
