Lately it became some kind of standard but personally I prefer it down there.
Gives you more work space and cleaner overall.
Why giving up that space and put it on the table?

Dont know if you have enough space, as its kind of hard to see. but a build like that is worth showing off on the desk or on the righthandside. I was girst thinking put it left to the monitor where the radio thingy is now, and put the radio thingy ontop of the pc or to the righthandside next or on top of the board

On a safety/cleanliness standpoint yes. On the floor it will suck in a ton more dust than being on the desk. However that jeopardizes the real estate of your desk.
