I have no idea if this will work, but my PC was too hot so I had to improvise.

Extremely hot summer in Spain + mosquito net + duct tape + boredom

lol well, I guess it’s not stupid if it works! 😀

At least mosquito don’t go inside the computer

  3. Recent-Sink-4253

It’s mesh it’s not gonna stop dust.

although i WOULD make a frame, wood or lightweight frame like aluminum and such, for the dust filter to attack on, but if it’s fine for you. then go for it.

  5. Sticky_Charlie

That wont stop dust! Is it metal?

  6. This mesh won’t help much but you can buy mesh that is against dust. Also, did you ever use scissors? That looks like you cut it with your left foot.

  7. Pancakes1741

I hope it works! Your PC is overheating with all that going on? Whats really going on??

Mesh sides tend to negatively impact temps as they remove the wind tunnel effect solid side panels provide, so good luck with that.

Maybe search up positive and negative air pressure

Dust is quite small, your mesh isn’t going to stop it.

It’ll definitely let more in and keep it there, though.

I see you have scissors…. So why did you choose to use your teeth to cut the mesh? Jfc.

    Anti-dust mechanism?

Back in my day, we called them screens…and fyi, they don’t stop dust.

I don’t think you needed to add the “DIY” clarification. Ain’t nobody gonna ask where you got it lol

  14. BenchAndGames

What are those temps that you trying to avoid ?
Im in Spain aswell (Madrid) and the GPU is going to 70°C and CPU around 80°C max with yeah about 30°C ambient…

  15. wigneyr

0 effort and 0 filtration aside from long hairs, maybe. How big do you think dust particles are?

Try and use a fan in an open field.

Then try that same fan in a more enclosed environment, you’ll get better results.

First, what temps are you getting?, if the temps are like 95 degrees or something stupid like that, it’s either another case of CPU cooler sticker, or you simply has to clear your cooler, if you let dust form a barrier in the (metal thing of the cooler which name I don’t remember, I just woke up) the air of your intake fans will simply bounce back and not cool properly.

  18. ksigley

Omg I have those exact same scissors. We’re scissor twins!

  19. Well, you’ll have less flies in your pc now…

Update: Thanks to your feedback, I’ve realized that my genius filtration system may or may not work as intended.

It’s still genius, don’t get me wrong, but I think I need a bigger case and better fans to fix the temperature issue.

  21. GeovaunnaMD

onlything thats stops dust is dusting

  22. Impossible-Abroad468

Lmao how big do you think dust particles are?

  23. DrSilkyDelicious

Ummm, I don’t think you what dust is.

  24. Tigertail5000

    Definitely not gonna prevent dust

  25. TerribleAspect8931

that can be useful as an anti cat fur mechanism, but not dust

  26. mighty1993

Wont do anything for dust. Either buy a proper case or make the best out of what you have. dust filters at the front and bottom, 3 intake fans, 2 exhaust and you are fine. An open side panel is NOT a good solution. You want to create a tunnel for the air so keep the case shut and improve the fan situation.

  27. MachineCarl

That won’t do shit. Just buy an air duster and once every month blow the dust out of the filters that came with your computer.
