
Hear me out, there is this dude on YT that did comparison between RTX 5070 Ti and RX 9070 XT, I love this channel, but I dont think he gave that 5070 Ti a 100%.
The thing that bothers me is that at 11:07 he only added +500 on memory OC for the 5070 Ti and he is 100% kinda leaving perfomance on the table.
My question now is, how many of you tried +2000mhz on memory OC and be just fine? Did you see perfomance gains all the way up to 2000?
How many of you did even more with the memory extender file for MSI Afterburner and did +3000?Are you stable? These 5070 Tis all share the same SAMSUNG memory chips and the only thing that really seperates these are VRMs for samsung memory chips.

I feel like this guy is not doing anything unique, almost every "tech" youtuber will do +500 on memory and be done with it, basicaly a copy cat.

I think you’re not taking all factors into account. First of all, when you overclock the VRAM, it starts drawing more power. If your GPU is already hitting its power limit, then the entire board begins to split power between components, which increases the risk of throttling due to that limit. So blindly increasing VRAM frequency is a bad idea unless you also raise the power limit or lower the GPU voltage.
I don’t get any crashing issues but I get performance degradation past 1850 on my ASUS TUF 5080.
The best settings for my card and use case are +1750 mem and 3000mhz @ .975v, it’s the best balance of performance, acoustics, and thermals for me.
500 you’re absolutely leaving performance on the table, even 1500 is conservative, 2000 should be good for a majority of cards. You can use superposition benchmark to test stability, I was able to go to 3000 with improved scores. Going from 2000 to 3000 only netted an extra 2% but it’s free performance as long as it’s stable. Now I’m testing a 5080 pre-built and 2000 was max, after 2000 I lost performance in synthetic benchmarks.
My 5090 fe is stable on +3000 mem via afterburner.
I do think that most “tech” youtubers/ content creators are just regurgitating information that they found somewhere else and aren’t trying to find why this is what you should do and why.
My 5080 is totally stable at +3000 on the memory in MSI afterburner.
Performance increases all the way up to +3000, but with diminishing returns the faster you go.
Stable at +2000, ran benchmarks to confirm performance increase as well. (Its small only a few fps gained). Didn’t try for any higher than +2000
+300 on the core is the most the core will do
My 5090 vanguard’s vram scales in port royal up to +2750ish, after than the gain kind of stops. I’m dailying +2500.
5090 Palit OC here, running +3000.
My rtx 5080 runs stable on 3100MHz @1v / +2000MHz on memory
On a warm system i drop performance once I go beyond +2400
I’d like to find a way to OC past 3000mhz, because that’s as high as Afterburner goes, and there’s no artifacts yet! 5060 ti 16GB
I have +3000 with the special config profile with 0 issues. Performance gain was minimal but noticeable. However I’m running 5090 and not 5070TI
5080 Trio with a 3ghz oc @ 0.970mV +2250 on mem, stable as can be
