Damn, we need more of these moments of clarity in the gaming industry

Lol, of course it was. I’d be surprised if it WASN’T that at some point, heck, even releasing it as such wouldn’t come as a shock at all.

  3. Well I’m really glad they didn’t do that. Going back to raccoon city sounds great.

Refreshing to see some common sense in the gaming industry for a change.

So what percentage of the budget was wasted on that? I just want to know how much of my $80 will go to an unrelated game

It was probably a battle royale at one point too

“What if we take out the zombies and survival horror aspects of our game and replaced it with a battle royale?!” -the exec high on cocaine.

Someone had to tell someone “do you have any idea how long ago Day Z was popular?”

I used to joke all the time about Raccoon City: Online becoming a thing, turns out I may have almost willed it into existence. Sorry fellas.

  10. Just another way of increasing prices and then trying to justify it.

Most of the RE online games are hit or miss… Mostly miss. Almost always miss tbf. So… Thank god.

How about that concept being used for an outbreak remake already capcom please you are killing us ! . Good call on dodging that for 9 , but outbreak is waiting right there for such a concept please 😭😭😭

The last three games sold 10+millions worldwide and survival horror is making a comeback,a complete change in formula wasn’t really needed outside of maybe toning down the action a bit in the non-remake games ( I liked Village, but only the 1/3 of the game is actually scary or stressful. )

Fucking yuck. I hope they pivoted super early before some of that stuff was turned into single player elements.

I swear every game nowadays “starts as” an online open world type game. Last one that comes to mind was Dragon Age Veilguard

Sounds like a cool side or spin-off. But shouldn’t be a mainline game.

Dang I’m just going to buy the game and enjoy it more now.

Glad there not mixing it into the main series.

But tbh I would actually want to try a open world/online resident evil but not as a main game. For example this is called requiem/ re9..but I wouldn’t mind seeing them try new things in mini spin off type games that are cheaper.. like a 30$ one something similar to how revelations is. Where it’s not really a main game in the series but it’s there. But that’s me being a sucker for resident evil I love all the games.

  19. I mean I’m glad they had the common sense to figure that out, but the fact that this was heading that direction at all is concerning

  20. SadBoy2016

Would that explain why they went with an outbreak era character spinoff? I.e. Ashcroft

I actually dig the idea of an open world multiplayer game set in Raccoon City, but it should be a mode thats part of a whole game complete with a regular single player focused campaign, not just the game itself in its entirety.
