You did well to wait. I had it on first release on ps4 and holy fuck a moly was it rough. It is actually really good now. Still some things are unpolished but it’s still great
You missed out on some fun money glitches and a slew of bugs/glitches but your first playthrough is when the game is in a solid state. I had to stop playing and wait for updates but the game is amazing and the stories are pretty solid too.
