I just bought the game on sale last week and played around 3 hours so far. I picked Corpo, and I'm really enjoying it. The game doesn't force you into the main story, so I can just roam around and do my own thing.

and last night I got Iconic Weapon and… I sell it by accident… I did not know that Iconic mean ONLY ONE!! 😭

I didn't know Iconic meant you only get one and can't craft it again later. so I make new character from beginning…

So now I'm here asking:
Veterans, what are your quick, non-spoilery tips to help a new player like me avoid bricking my save again? 😅

Thanks in advance, chooms!

in this instance i give the same advice to anyone in any situation similar, just load your previous autosaves if you have it active.

do the ncpd missions, take all the guns and equipment, equip the best ones if u like and sell the rest, rack up cash so fast

Honestly just play the game. A lot of things you’re confused about now make more sense as you play. If you’re really into the atmosphere of the game a tip would be to read the computers when doing gigs and the shards you see around the map. You’ll see a lot of recurring names and just great world building

Be the character and live by the choices you’ve made.

    1. Don’t spend money buying guns or upgrade materials on crafting anything that’s not iconic, you outgrow them really quick at the beginning of the game. Save your upgrade components for your favorite guns later on.

    2. Money is easy, just do NCPD activities or kill random gangoons on the street and sell their weapons.

    3. Explore different styles a bit before fully commiting your attribute points to a build. Maybe you’ll enjoy shotguns more than snipers, maybe you won’t care about netrunning: you don’t want to realize this when you’re locked out of the best perks of a skill tree.

    4. Pay Vic, be a good choom.

    5. Doing all gigs for one fixer will reward you with a weapon and some of them are among the best in their class. If you like katanas, do all of Wakako’s jobs, if you like handguns then be a good boy for Padre.

    6. Some of the best weapons and cyberware are in Dog Town, you also have a chance to buy iconics you missed (though not sure about ones you sold). Save up and do stuff there, keep an eye out for Barghest (green) weapons with good/empty mod slots since they’re upgraded versions of regular weapons.

    7. Seriously man, pay Vic.

Get a katana or a shotgun and a sandevistan

Kick the door down, go in loud, stealth rewards are garbage, be the wrecking ball

  7. Do side content. My first playthrough I basically only did the main story and I missed out on a fuckload

Loot guns and sell them. That’s how you avoid running low on money

If you aren’t playing on the highest difficulty, you should be relatively fine. You don’t need to min/max to get through the game.

I found that it is VERY easy to over level yourself if you’re an explorer type player (guilty as charged). This is perfectly fine, but it may trivialize parts of the game later.

    0, Skye is the girl
    1. For your first playthrough, spend attributes based on your play style and only as you need them. Almost all builds will use 15 body for the ~~Overclock~~ adrenaline rush skill (it is a HUGE survivability boost)
    2. Cyberware makes you EXTREMELY powerful. Every 10 levels, you will unlock a rarity available for purchase, with the highest level available at 40. So every 10 levels, make sure to check our your local rippers.
    3. If you like to play around with the style in the game, check out different clothing stores throughout the city. Certain articles of clothing can only be purchased in certain areas.
    4. Almost every gig has multiple ways to be cleared. Before running through the front entrance, take a quick walk around the area and see if there’s another approach that could work.
    5. She will always wait for you at Embers. There’s no rush.

Edit: I meant adrenaline rush, not overclock

Your save wasn’t bricked if you have dlc there’s a vendor you can get iconic weapons you missed or destroyed.

Also, there’s alot of replay-ability. So if you destroy something or miss something, get it next time.

  11. Enjoy the ride. Trust everybody! Let your heart choose the way!

No guides. No spoilers. Just play the game and go with the flow.

After your first ending, you can look up whatever you want. It’s a multiple playthrough kind of game.

Take the game at a pace thst wont bore you.

Mske saves at choices YOU think will be important

Level up if you feel to weak in game

    FUCK ARASAKA.

Do gigs and police scanners, they reward great. All fixers give you a final item, Mr. Hands is locked behind phantom liberty

Did I mention to fuck Arasaka?

    Find weapons you like

    Make a build

Try new shit(yes it contradicts what I just said)

Finslly:WELCOME TO NC AND ENJOY YOUR STAY.

Take things slow, don’t sprint everywhere or floor it constantly. Do all the little side things that pop up, read the scrolls when you have the energy to and really invest yourself in picking good dialogue options

  15. cannibalparrot

Stay off this subreddit until you’ve finished the game once, at least.

Best to not ruin the surprise.

  16. 35_PenguiN_35

    Don’t kill the cyberphycos.

Get a bat, put “PAX” mod it and beat them with it or subdue them.

  17. WhackCaesar

You will be tempted to be a stealth pistol netrunner every time you start a new playthrough, even though you swear you’re gonna branch out. You’re not gonna branch out; this is just who you are now.

  18. Witcher-19

When you feel you can handle it pacific beach is a great way to farm exp and just keep killing gang members and harvesting materials and guns to sell

  19. Do NOT under any circumstance meet a lady named Hanako at this club called Embers. Trust me.

  20. CAUSEEFFEC

Always start on puppy loving pacifist.

Cause if you start on stone cold killer you only get like 50 bodies before the gun switches

  21. Slowwwww down.
Take your time with all the missions.
    And for real
    Walk.
Walk through the city. It feels like a city.
Explore everything. There are Easter eggs everywhere if you look. Stuff that doesn’t have to do with story or mission.
