So yeah, just remembered this. Was 24 back 2003. I was ahead of time with this clear view in to case trend.

Made this from 12mm thick acrylic panels so it would've probably survived nuclear blast too.

Inside there was AMD athlon XP cpu (don't remember which one) and Ati Radeon 9700 Pro GPU (best back in the day).

Also had before this case both CPU and GPU on water and did some overclocking with it. Fun times.

This is so early 2000s coded, it brings joy to my millennial heart.

Must be blind. CPU was Athlon XP 2700+

The digital blasphemy mushrooms of yesteryear. Core memory unlocked

the wave of nostalgia that just hit seeing that desktop and wallpaper. absolutely sick build, hopefully that case is still kicking around somewhere out there.

If you’re not still using it, then why?

    This thing is dope.

    Love this cable management

That blue mushroom background is iconic

The colour scheme and design on the side made me expect it would be Nvidia (nForce, perhaps, even)

  10. Disgruntled_Orifice

I had that same mushroom background on my MySpace.

  11. That’s very impressive, what was the inspiration for the side panel? an eye?

DIY was so difficult back then unless you had decent experience with tools you’d only find in a workplace, your joins look way too perfect for the usual layman hackjobs

Athlon XP! What a processor that was!

Amazing case. Have often played with the idea of building one but never got my head around it. Very impressive

I miss when green was the cool color.

  14. ToddyFatBody

It looks inspired by Big Brother and 28 Days later. Those blue mushrooms too. I had the same wallpaper back then.

  15. That’s actually really sick. I was also playing with this idea but never had the skills/materials for it

  16. StarSines

Looks sick I’d kill for a retro case like that now

Damn, what a cool time it was. Remember how everyone used to paint their regular cases and improve cooling using whatever they found in the garage?

I am just old and easter-european enough to remember this “vibe” and In love it (am 20 now, so while I dont recall this *exact* period of my life, I still do have glimpes of the feeling these images evoke)

A bit younger tha. You but 2004/2005 was the year I first got into PC building and PC parts. Nostalgia hit here was crazy. Good times. Had to have the WinAmp skin to match your build.

Picture 4 was even nice enough to include the taskbar where we see the time is 1337

This is sick, how was the airflow ? Or was that not as big an issue back in the day? My first computer or one I got to use when I was little was my uncles Mac computer that had like a purple clear case on the monitor. Couldn’t do much on it or I didn’t know how to do anything except pull up his media player and play songs with a nice liquid background and pinball lol. You def brought back some old memories for me just seeing this though

  22. EvilerBrush

Omg god I had that mushroom background for years

  23. Kiwi_CunderThunt

This is a cooked image. No one uses 5.25 bays anymore. Nice try now fuck off

    As a robotics kid

TWELVE MILLIMETER???? ARE YOU BUILDING A BOMB SHELTER???

We use 6mm on our FRC robot which hits things at 50kmh.

  25. Remember how short-lived UT2003 was before UT2004 came out and dominated, after UT99? Nostalgic.
