lol what games were you looking at?

I really wish Steam had a better policy on these things. Displaying it is one thing, but it’s also completely pointless if a developer/publisher can just add these things at any time after the purchase. Same for launchers and other spyware. Not even ancient games are save. These updates should at the very least never be automatic.

Noob here, what’s the issue with it having Denuvo if you’re going to buy it anyway? I thought only pirates had issues with it.

I will not and have not ever purchased a game with Denuvo active. I have after it’s been removed but I will NEVER support that absolutely scummy company.

I’d also just like to take a moment to advocate for piracy. I pirated Expedition 33 because it was cracked on day one. I loved it so much that I bought the deluxe edition from Steam at full price.

I have bought so many games at full price due to piracy, if I try a game and I genuinely really enjoy it then I will fully support the developers with my money.

I bet there are a lot of games that I haven’t been able to try that I’d have probably loved like Blackmyth Wukong and I’m just not willing to spend that much money on a gamble as it’s impossible to know if you actually like a game in 2 hours especially with cutscenes and or technical issues you may encounter.

  5. * Denuvo is expensive and can only be afforded by big companies, companies that are insecure and will choose to tank performances for everyone rather than possibly loosing some sales to piracy.
    * Such companies are guaranteed to be run by and satisfy shareholders.
    * Satisfying shareholders drastically decrease artistic value, quality and innovation to target specific delays, margins, or widening the audience as much as possible.

=> You see Denuvo as a DRM, it’s most likely either shit or at best a very generic AAA

I actually joined a discord group and they literally gave me stellar blade for free with a working denuvo token
    That’s crazy

Another one for me is the, “*requires 3rd party account / client*”, that has stopped me buying quite a few games.
