Great job looking out for budget gamers, 2/3rds the shader core count of a 5060 and 71% of the memory bandwidth, for only $249.

4070 performance at 249$? Wow! I can afford that!

  2. “is it worth downgrading from a 1080 ti to a 5050 for dlss and mfg?”

  3. so i’m guessing it’ll give you roughly 4060 performance for $250?

Nvidia really despises having to put anything out on the budget market lol

course there really aren’t any decent sub $300 options out there from either AMD or Nvidia at the moment. But I’d sure as hell stretch 50 bucks more for a 9060xt 8gb if I was in this price range and 8gb of RAM was enough for me. It’s likely to be a good 25% faster at 1080p

    So far Nvidia’s launched the:

    RTX Titan Blackwell
    RTX 5070
    RTX 5060 TI
    RTX 5060
    RTX 5050 TI 16GB
    RTX 5050 TI 8 GB
    RTX 5050
    and now
    RTX 5030.

    I wonder when we’ll get the 5080.

All 8GB cards should just drop their prices $50-70 and I think we’d be mostly ok.

Luckily, they’re not flying off the shelves, so hopefully we’re starting to see below MSRP card (if you count gift card credit, like w/ the 9060XT)

  6. And I bet they will make a 4GB VRAM version

  7. Ludicrits

100% this is coming out because the parts in them weren’t good enough for the other models/ai.

  8. CumAssault

Why wouldn’t you just buy the B580? Same price but less VRAM with worse performance. Intel isn’t even a slouch with AI and most workstation tasks

  9. the_Athereon

At last a new low profile king… if anyone bothers to make one.

At 130W and theoretical performance making it faster than the current 3060 Low Profile offerings, it could happen.

I dont know the nitty gritty details and specs, im trying to build a PC for a friends birthday. We’re between a RTX 2080 Super or spending a little more for a RTX 3070, is a new generation RTX 5050 going to be better then those options?

    I think I can get a RTX 3070 for $300

  11. VR-Geek

Amazon.co.uk are still selling more than one model of new 3060 12GB cards for the same price and overclocked.co.uk have new Intel B580 12GB cards in stock for £230 both including 20% sales tax. Why would you buy a lower performing 5050 for the same price?

  12. ManyNectarine89

    Bro a new XX50 that ISN’T ~75W??? WTF Nvidia…

They better release a low profile version of this… You really telling me, we ain’t gonna get anything new beyond a RTX 3050…. AY yo..

  13. -xXColtonXx-

B580 will eat this thing alive. That said, this card will be put into a bunch of budget pre builts, they well because they will be cheap and parents will buy them.

Honest question, coming from a 1080ti, if I’m only playing games on 1080p, 144hz, is this good bang for buck in terms of an upgrade?

  15. BMWtooner

If they make a low power version and don’t gimp NVENC this would be nice for a small media pc.

  16. Chopstick84

I need a GT 5030 75W for my secondary PC

  17. handymanshandle

I’m actually curious as to how this performs, especially against the B570. I know the B580 is a thing, but have fun finding one for anywhere near MSRP (and I can speak from experience on that one), and any other sub-$300 card that isn’t from Intel is getting rather old now.

Unrelated, but whatever happened to the RTX 4050? I know it shipped in a ton of laptops, but wasn’t that supposed to get a desktop variant?

  18. Interesting-Eye-1615

Not even an eco card that can be sold in SFF or 1 fan models, draws almost the same power from the 5060, has 8gb at $249?!.

it should’ve been $199 and a SFF compatible card

  19. sup9817

Thought they were reducing the 5060 price for a sec

  20. TriGGa-POP

Seems like reasonable value for about $180 :v

  21. humanmanhumanguyman

So my 250 dollar used 2080ti was a better purchase a year ago

    Cool

  22. Daver7692

They saw the reviews for the 5060 8gb and decided to run it back but worse…

  23. Appropriate_Army_780

No worries. It will have almost the same performance as the 3090!!!

    ~~Framegen is needed~~

  24. I already said this about the 5060, but it’s an even more valid argument for the 5050. If you’re on a budget and getting one of these for e-sports, I’d highly recommend considering an R5 8600G and just using the 760M iGPU that comes with it. We’re talking about $180 total here, considerably cheaper than an R5 7600 and RTX 5050 combo for like $500.

  25. hyp3rj123

Anyone see that person using two Nvidia GPUs where one was doing the framegen and the other was doing the rendering? I think this might be a cool GPU to test that out on without older GPUs. A $250 upgrade to to your current GPU where you can leverage you existing GPU and have those frames go through this GPUs framegen tech and boost fps…

  26. DarkFlameShadowNinja

RTX 5010 can’t believe they actually launched it

  27. Hour_Bit_5183

big dummies think I am joking when I say GPU performance increases are really done. That is why they are acting like this. This 5050 is a pissant terrible card.

  28. Mobslayer56

Where’s the rtx 5030??? For only $199 you can have 4gb of vram with 1/2 the cores of the 5050! What a steal! Now I can run Microsoft xl at max settings 30fps!

  29. Cautious-Intern9612

i mean this aint bad for someone brand new looking for a super budget gpu

  30. SmellybutKind

Currently on a 2070S and like 1440p for gaming.

I guess a 4070 is my pick for something under $1k?
