I wasn’t ready for how much Death Stranding 2 feels like Metal Gear Solid at times (in the best possible way). Combat and stealth are a massive step up from the first game – Kojima is clearly back in his element and I’m all for it!

Holy shit, that look real. Very impressive graphics!

I thought that was cosplay for a moment

Even the first game already had lots of influence from MGS 5, glad that it was improved upon even more and hope they kept the key thing of mgs5 and 1st DS game that allowed to run on older hardware.

My IMMEDIATE first thought upon seeing Neil was “ I know Mr. Kojima, we miss him too!”

Love to hear that ty. How’s performance?
MewinMoose
DS plus MGS might be the strongest gameplay loop ever

I didn’t play death stranding 1, was there a satisfying story/combat/narrative around mads mikelson and his boys rising out of the sludge?
In videos, reviews, essays and podcast conversations people only talk about the bridges and climbing and falling, but those cutscenes prerelease were so interesting to me and goes so completely unmentioned in all media I hear about death stranding
SailorGone
Do I need to play the first one to understand the second?
kookieman141
Kept us waiting, huh?

I hated all the offline multi player stuff in the first one, the random spam showing up in my world, has that changed at all?
caites
Well, Kojima had balls to silently admit that the most creative walking simulator wont be better than classic stealth and gunplay from mgs.
the_rabbit_king
How the hell is everyone playing this already?
BurntBeanMgr
I’m not even seeing this on steam, but 1 is on sale right now so might snag it!
Rutegger
After playing the first, you couldn’t pay me to play this game.

Still No killing right ? Do dead bodies still blow up after a certain amount of time ?
DrFGHobo
Soo… what about voidouts, or is most of the combat done with non-lethal weaponry?
HeavyDT
Death Stranding always had a very metal gear feel to it. Definitely a game made by the same guy / people. I think they purposefully tried to dilute that feeling though with the combat and stealth in the first game and even came up with Story reasons for it to be that way but you can tell they were trying to say hey this is not Metal gear even though it very much looks and feels like Metal Gear. Now they just seem to have embraced it which makes for a better game.

Can you actually kill enemies now without the need to ditch every single body in to a lake/ incinerator?
drchigero
It it released digitally yet? I think the physical isn’t out for two more days.

Someone, please. Take Kojima’s computer away from him so he stops making games.
cosmernautfourtwenty
Combat and stealth?!? In the Delivery Man Simulator sequel???
SwiftCase
I’m so excited to play this day one. The combat in the first was a bit clunky, so improved combat/stealth sounds amazing.
futanari_kaisa
I thought you can’t kill people in the world of death stranding because of void outs

‘I will make my own Metal Gear Solid, even worse to understand’

This is why I’m gonna buy DS2. I played through some of DS1 and thought the traversal gameplay was interesting but not enough to hold my attention. But just a little more action in it should be enough for my ADHD brain to stick through it.

I’ll never understand the love for the first game. Stack a bunch of boxes on your back, walk for hours constantly dropping all your shit and having to gather it back up, drop it all off at an empty warehouse where maybe you’ll get to talk to one guy via hologram then rinse and repeat. That’s not me just writing it off from videos I played the entire game start to finish. I had so much love for MGS I thought at least maybe the story would make it all worth it. No not really.
Jackfitz88
Do I need to play the first to play the second? I got like 8-9 hours into the first and couldn’t play anymore. I was just so bored of the walking packages from place to place.
I thought the story was super cool, the one or two boss battles were so much fun. There just wasn’t any engaging combat or stuff in between.
Is this the same or is it more engaging?
Also, maybe I just have to give it another chance. Maybe I wasn’t ready for it at the time and if I go back I’ll enjoy it, like I did with the Witcher 3 7 years later

I will wait for the pc version… I will wait…no need to take ps5 back from the storage
NoTear1024
Yes, it’s truly a masterpiece.

Many people unfairly criticize this game, calling it a delivery simulator and so on, but if you give it a chance and break through all those preconceived notions, the game reveals itself in such a way that you’re just in awe—like a little kid again. That’s exactly how it was for me ))

Im waiting for the actual release thank you very much
