The darkest iteration of zombies in my opinion

  2. Jaysnooo2

I have always loved it. One complain I have is the color world of the game, which is pretty dark and gritty but in a way suits the horror style. Definately darkest zombies we’ve had

  3. I loved that game. The story and the game play were awesome

  4. KOVACS_96

I really rate it, been going through all the EE’s just recently with my mates! Good challenge to all of them, having to work as a team and actually try!

  5. bolfington

I loved it when it came out. The darker take on the zombies mode was refreshing and i think it id one of the best iterations.

  6. Complete_Resolve_400

Pretty fuckin good, I think they deserve a chance to write/design a map again

  7. TheHappyMasterBaiter

I only ever played the first map once or twice and reached level 20 something, never touched it again.

Loved the artstyle and The Final Reich was a great map I love to revisit every now and then. The other maps, sadly, weren’t as great.

What the community always says after a few years: “it was an underrated gem!”

  10. Jakerzking

I actually really enjoy it. Keep going back every so often to try and do the easter eggs but I ain’t good enough 🤣

  11. Majestic_Action5513

It was great Zombies mixed with occultism real life faction Ahnenerbe and zombies speaking broken Latin-German

  12. Beneficial_Ask_849

Good but not perfect. It introduced a lot of features that paved the way for Cold War and Bo6, but at the same time, the maps were very hit and miss.

underrated, it was dark and gritty like most of the og’s wanted when playing WaW or Black Ops 1. Unfortunatly maps weren’t that great and it died out rather quickly

Me and a friend recently decided to play through all of the Easter eggs, and although it’s fun when given a solid chance, it’s not great. The side quests are frustratingly hard, which kills the replayability, and the wonder weapons suck. The consumables are also very poor. The graphics and atmosphere are fantastic, though, and the maps are actually pretty good. Unfortunately, a lot of negatives ruin the overall experience, but I’ve had fun on it, so it’s not all bad.

stylistically my favorite game. Gameplay/map wise…..probably at the bottom of my list lmao

  16. Baked_Potato224

It has a good appeal. I would rank it third behind Treyarch zombies and Infinite Warfare zombies, but above Advanced Warfare zombies.

I’ll be honest – I haven’t played it. But I saw that video from the picture in the post. How cool is it

  18. AssassinsCrypt

I’ve tried it last year, since I’ve never played it before (got WWII with the PS Plus), and I was really surprised by it! Gritty atmosphear, cool setting, fun mechanics… a really good mode! I didn’t like the gunplay that much (but it was an issue with the whole game), but I would say that it’s the best non-treyarch side mode!

  19. Sutekh-935

Vanguard should have continued this. It was a great change and definitely the scariest iteration of zombies so far.

WWII is the 3rd best zombies mode of all time and I will die on that hill. It gave us literally everything that we were asking for as a community at the time and sadly everyone hated them for it.

    • We begged for difficult Easter eggs, they gave us The darkest shore

    • We begged for easier maps, they gave us The Frozen Dawn

    • We begged for more complexity, they gave us The Shadowed Throne

    • We begged for an objective based mode, they gave us The Tortured Path

    • We begged for simple survival maps, they gave us 4 of them alongside the standard maps

    • We begged for more unlockable content, they gave us an insane amount of unlockable characters through challenges and weapon skins through the loot boxes which are also unlockable via challenges

    • We begged for a return to horror, they delivered

    • We begged for more customizability, they gave us the best load out and class system we’ve ever had with legitimately unique builds for different playstyles without making it overpowered

    • We begged them to fix “crutch perks”, they gave us the only good jugg replacement we’ve ever gotten

    • We begged for point dropping on demand, they delivered

    • We begged for more interesting and varied weapons, they not only gave us the largest arsenal in zombies history but also gave the majority of guns truly unique PaP effects

They managed to make all of these changes while still maintaining the classic zombies mechanics that we’ve all missed dearly since BO4, but despite all of this effort to give us precisely what we wanted we didn’t appreciate any of it. WWII’s reception is likely a large reason why the devs don’t even bother listening to us anymore and we only have ourselves to blame, but I will glaze this game until the day I die.
