Well, V did defeat Smasher. Johnny is reduced to a mental illness and Panam fought in a couple missions, but nothing outstanding. If Panam was the gooner choice, remember you can make a female V too

Panam. She’s a ride or die and while smasher is intimidating, he’s a full blown cyber psycho. Johnny can’t really bring anything to the table realistically besides personal insight and past knowledge(that’s sometimes inaccurate). Panam always seems to be able to set up a solid plan and will absolutely have your back.
V is the maddest dude on this list, by canon.

Endgame V is basically a God who is for all intents and purposes invincible and can headshot badguys from 70 yards with a pistol. Any sort of fight you’d take him as your wingman all day.
