8400MT-8800MT CU-DIMM DDR5 with a timings tune will get you a very solid experience

they can game too, but hard to recommend even at this price when something like a 9600x would still be better
That’s a great deal. The 265k overclocks nearly as good as the 285k.
Do you already have the motherboard? If you’re buying a board or building a new pc, go with am5. Intels myriad problems arent worth saving a couple bucks.

I recently bought one myself and I’m extremely happy with it. If you pair it with fast ram (8000+) and overclock it a bit, it really comes alive. I got the gaming performance on it within about 5-8% of the 9800x3d. I only measured that in 3dmark, so real-world performance will probably vary.
100% worth it if you already have an LGA 1851 board. Pair it with a CUDIMM and some basic overclocking and you have a beast. If you are making a new build and its just for gaming then you should stick with 9800x3d.
