    This is to show that these numbers mean nothing.

    Make the destination server Australia-based. The reason why this is useful is that routers will redirect and some paths could go round the world the wrong way to get to you.

    So where has that number gone?

    The reason all router companies will choose a server close to you is that it looks real good. The issue is that your games/content is all over the world and lots of other people are using the internet as you, so redirects are inevitable.

    At least, if not throttled, updates are downloaded faster. And sharing torrents is appreciated at this speed. 😁 I’m happy with my 980Mbps up/down (Miku stole 20Mbps since she’s in my wifi). 😂

    You a business or something? Gonna watch 4k movies at twice speed now? I’d fail to see a use case for this. Like, yeah, Download a 100 GB game within minutes, but is not something you do every day or even month. Call me poor but I’d rather wait 30 minutes more than pay double my current rate for speed I need once in a blue moon.

    My plan is also 2.5GB/s, but both my motherboard and router can only reach 1GB/s 🙁

    I had 1000 up/down for like a year and downgraded to 200 up/down because i don’t need more.
    Sure it’s nice to download games fast but for everything else i didn’t need that speed anyways.

    I have a better ping than you, and I “only” have gigabit. So take that.

    Jokes aside it’s so weird, I remember going from a 180-200 ping, to a 130 ping when I upgraded my 33.6kbit modem to 56kbit. Then going to 40 when I got 512kbit DSL. Ah simpler times.

    Mannnnn, we have Sunrise at home as well, we even got the highest tier for free as part of a sports sponsorship program, but where we live the fibre network has no been extended yet so I can’t get nearly up to your numbers.
