Imagine paying for windows when you’re not a megacorporation lmao get scammed scrub.

  2. Sorry-Committee2069

At one point, a Windows license was more like $150 for the highest tier. I’m still not paying for it now, though.

Jokes aside I’d definitely take it for 20. It’s usually 5x that at least.

Isn’t it Lenovo that sells laptops where the difference between getting windows and choosing linux or no OS is like ~~$200~~ $140 for Home and ~~$300~~ $200 for Pro?

    Edit- Fixed the prices

  5. SoftwareDesperation

You can buy an OEM key for pretty cheap. People are just dumb and obsessed with pirating.

Yeah, Linux is pretty competitive nowadays. And I hear having the Activate Windows watermark isn’t so bad.

Those 2$ keys on key sites work and I don’t wanna know why or where they’re from, just have always used them for years with 0 issues

  12. Longjumping_Cap_3673

You’re going to have to pay me more than 20$ to install Windows on my PC.

  13. Do not worry windows 12 will have ads in the start menu like 11 but now its on the cloud with ads on the desktop hey maybe popup ads every so often this way its free.

    Win 12 os

    with ads-free’

    $5 a month-limited ads

    $10 a month no ads

$500 lifetime license but needs a server check every 5 months.

I mean why not xbox/sony is ranking in over $170 a year per user on there sub plans just on consoles then you got adobe/streaming platforms everyone loves 2 support subscription plan’s.

If i remember correctly it was around 47.5 million psplus subscribers that is what 8 billion? man Microsoft would love that for the windows user.

I see windows going the subscription plan route the masses love them.

People are so weird. It’s the most important piece of software, by far, you could ever install on your PC and people think the idea of paying for it is absurd. Lol.

  15. deaththreat1

Fun fact. Some colleges have a free windows education edition key for students.

  16. HypoCRITSlayer

Honestly, not understanding the difference between software and hardware is a embarrassing

When you upgrade your PC hardware you can just migrate your account from one motherboard to the new one. There’s instructions on Microsoft’s own website on how to do this if you Google it. I upgraded my laptop to a desktop but you see it’s still the same PC because I carried forward the SSD and USB mouse.

My laptop is now listed on my Microsoft account with a B550 mobo and ryzen 5700x3d cpu. Neat!

I will pay thousands for something I need or want. I won’t pay a single cent for something I will never need.

  19. Dependent-Curve-8449

Kinda reminds me of people who spends a thousand dollars on a smartphone, then baulk at paying a few dollars for an app. I really don’t understand the mentality. You have already spent so much on the hardware. Why would you want to skimp on the software which would unlock the full functionality of your device?

    It’s not about money.

    It’s about the principle.

  21. Comfortable_Cress194

I pirated mine a long time ago and don’t have to worry anymore

  22. creamcolouredDog

I know of an OS that’s legally free but people will call me a computer vegan

  23. ocxtitan

I didn’t save up $3k for a PC by paying $20 for shit I can get for free
