You’ll need blackout blinds or the screen glare will drive you crazy

Personally I’d get day and night. But I’m a sucker for natural light and a few plants.

Day blinds and blackout curtains you can draw over them when desired.

I have a dual roller blind setup, day blind that lets in light but blocks people seeing in and blackout blind on a smart motor that closes with voice, automatically at dusk or smart home setup.

I have black sheer curtains withcjust regular blinds. Still let’s some natural light in, but stops the glare.

I’d face the desk so that the back of the screen is facing the window.
Personally, I’d opt to take the corner over, with the desk kitty corner and the back of my chair facing the corner, but you could put the desk right up against the window or in the middle of the room facing it I suppose.
I’d use blackout blinds as an option at times but I wouldn’t black it out permanently.
