I mean you can find a MacBook air m3 for like $750 right now, that thing lasts like 16 hours or something and it has zero noise due to no fans. And apple makes some damn good chips.
When it comes to getting work done, I like MacBooks. They’re just trash for gaming because apple makes it damn near Impossible to properly optimize and port games to Mac

“Protective case” just do an eBay search for MacBook Air broken screen and see how many results you get.

To make a reply to this, I checked Best Buy’s web page for Apple laptops. I searched for “New Condition” and sorted by lowest price first, all to figure out what Apple was offering for cheap. I went through 17 pages, almost 300 product listings out of 436, of “Refurbished” and “Open Box” to find a “new” laptop on clearance for $1000. The refurbish list started at $120 and continued on. The clearance item had 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
At this point, I don’t feel like performing the same hunt for a Windows laptop under the same conditions.

Face it, PC is good value but windows laptops are legit atrocious trash at whichever equivalent price point, and nth can change my mind

I would rather not have a computer or phone at this stage of my life than buy an apple product.
Given the choice of buying one, or not having technology, I would go analog and adapt.

I started my kid on Linux, and he’s just getting into 2nd grade. He doesn’t even know about Windows Vs MacOS. He’s happy as long as he can play on his Minecraft server with his friends (which is running on a UNIX server).
