Yep, one of the best battlefields ever is now nearly old enough to drink… There are still people playing it online actually.

One of the games that brought the joy of gaming into my life. Miss that times..

Hooowwwww?????!!! I spent so much time on that growing up, and I still do now. My personal view is BF really went downhill after this instalment…

This is the game that introduced the leveling and unlocking system in online shooters, even before call of duty.

  5. This was the one for me, that one game that you could not get me to leave alone. For my friendship group it was Halo 2 or Morowind or Socom II but for me it was BF2. It just felt on another level of replayability and scale unlike anything my teenage mind had come across.

And it is still playable via BF2 Hub. But sometimes it’s better not to go back. Enemy Boat Spotted!

This particular title of shooter should have won and gone main stream. Instead of CoD

Never played it, unfortunately. My favourite Battlefield was 1942. The music was incredible!

Iconic theme and it’s probably my favorite of the series. Games after this did amazing stuff like adding awesome destruction with the Bad Company games, or how much Battlefield 1 visually and audibly advanced the games, but BF2 was special.

Now excuse me while I leave here and wither into dust due to the realization of how old this game is…

I am 31. So you’re telling me I was 17 when this game came out? I played it so much I failed all my classes. Including math.

This was the first online game I ever really got into. I remember scaling the tallest building in Strike at Karkand and just sniping.

Im sad i discovered this game on XBox (demo…it had a trial online that i would play for YEARS…Literally the SAME GAME MODE AND MAP) I couldn’t afford the game or even attempted to. This game and SOCOM online(ps2) were my lifelines.

Old enough by 2 years in Australia. But it is still the goat BF

BF2 was the last Battlefield game I played with friends. Seriously good times.

I got my copy of battlefield 2 with a pizza hut deal, pizza hut got me hooked on battlefield and I still play 2042 to this day.

  15. BarelyContainedChaos

I was so good with the chopper in this game. I felt bad for other players after a while.

  16. ThrowYourDreamsAway

I remember those days, I didn’t know how to get online so I just spent hours driving around the map in single player.

  18. Alexico91

How old do you think *I* feel, then?!

  19. Mangumm_PL

I remember playing offline only with bots and couldn’t unlock P90 >:(

No it doesn’t. You’re delusional. Get him out of here.

  21. escalibur

How many times someone around you said ’Imagine what kind of Battlefield games we will have in 20 from now.’ And in 2020s we have…yeah.

  22. unspecified_genre

My favorite BF, I printed off all the Medals and ribbons and ticked them off as I got them, ah the good old days

  23. SASColfer

Already old enough to drink in most of the civilised world. Well on its way to becoming an alcoholic.

    Fantastic game.

  24. CyberIMan
