I was connecting the HDMI to this monitor and it suddenly came loose for no reason. I've had it for several years. Is there any way to fix it? I don't need to use it.But I am quite fond of it as it is a gift, can I do something?

you ripped the entire connector off. either you solder a new one into that place or you buy a new monitor.

You ripped it off. It is fixable if you have the right tools, but if you have to ask about it then you probably need to bring it to a professional.

How on earth that port detach itself from circuit board?? If it’s just a bad soldering job that caused detachment, you might be able to resolder it (maybe). But it’s just hard to tell just from outside. You will have to open it up & assess the damage first. who knows, it might a easy fix.

  4. I think you should carefully take the monitor apart and extract the HDMI socket that is now floating around.

otherwise you’ve got a piece of metal kicking about

There was never a HDMI connector there, there are no pads on the mainboard.

That’s what happens when you shove display port into an hdmi port

    ngl, that’s amazing.

it might be possible to solder a connector on but I doubt people’s ability in this sub to do that. lol

    It broke off the board.

That’s bad for a bunch of reasons.

Depending on your monitor’s capabilities, you should consider a female to male HDMI to VGA adapter. If all you need is 1080p at 60hz, it should suffice.

You accidentally bought one with a hideme port instead

Obligatory have you checked your carbon monoxide detector;;) lol

  15. It’s a relatively easy soldering job, probably just needs a new port.
But asking about it means that you don’t have the skills or tools needed, so just bring it to a repair shop.

As others have mentioned, you need to solder it back on if possible. If you can’t do this or can’t get someone else to do so, an alternative if you want to keep using a HDMI port is to get one of those adapters to convert the VGA to HDMI

Thanks for all the comments, I’m getting the materials to weld it back, I hope it doesn’t explode.
