Me going back to play old games

Funny thing is that this has always been the case. It was just as bad before.

There is one cyclic variation specific for us pc gamers though. Due to how performance targets are almost always based on consoles, you can brute force it on pc if you build your pc at the end of a console cycle.

That’s what I usually do because that way, I have a few years of being able to enjoy recent games. And then i do like you and go back to old or indie games.

    WoW!

My brain is laughing too much!

  3. I was the crazy person on the soap box’s 2 years ago saying unreal engine is going to hurt gaming both in terms of creativity with everyone using the same tools/assests auto ai shit but also in performance/art style.

    Now here we are.

Every time a new game comes out this year or for the next I see huge recommended requirements. How can it be that a game much MUCH less powerful graphically than RDR2 that asks for a 1660 is asking for a 3080, HOW

How dare they target PCs from the last 8 years! My Nvidia 1080 only came out 9 years ago! It’s still top of the line! 😤

But seriously, you think they should just never be allowed to increase requirements or….?

    I still game on a Toshiba L305D

    I can play Expedition 33 at a nice 1440p 60fps on a 4060 8gb.

Idk I feel like we’re fine.

What do you mean you don’t want to pay an increased price for a game that has unrealistic system requirements even though it’s so poorly optimized you’ll be forced to use DLSS or FSR the entire time????

I don’t see the issue. New games pretty much like newer hardware. If you’re PC can’t keep up with a PS5, then yeah, you might have to upgrade. That’s literally how it goes. Also, the requirements don’t really shit. I feel like some of are just new to all of this and don’t really understand how PCs work. Get mid-range, modern hardware and quit bitching. Technology will not slow down for you and Devs can’t optimize your own setup.

You mean games that look graphically amazing are targeting current gen console-level hardware for minimum and you’re surprised?
