The city itself looks like it‘s from a Cyberpunk world. You could say it‘s the German Night City (if it wasn‘t for Berlin…).

Frankfurt Trainstation is Dogtown, a real combat zone.

Tbh, I wouldn’t see Berlin as the German night city.

    It‘s got the missing skyscrapers…

Only German city with a (significant) skyline! Mainly because a lot of economic and financial activity is located in that city, which in turn is probably why it got chosen for the Arasaka Europe HQ. It would probably be the largest economic center on the continent (and afaik Germany is a bit more powerful in the Cyberpunk timeline than irl, where they already have a significant economy)

Dusseldorf is probably what it would pick IRL, as it has a sizeable community of japanese expats that brought in more japanese companies and snowballed like that. Most of them are just on assignement for a few years and then return to Japan.

It’s quite noticable if you ever go there, with the japanese delis along the main streets or the japanese themselves being a common sight on the trams etc.

  5. If there is one thing I would die for in Orion is the ability to have specific missions take place in snapspots of international coties so we can see how different cultures interact in this corpo controlled world.

Probally extremely unlikely but man it would be amazing.
