After buying one and using it. It’s great. Ultra wide is really nice for productivity and more immersion. The curved display does help with eye strain and more immersion in games.
Didn’t think I was going to like them until I bought one and ran it for a week.

A must have for ultrawide monitors, for non ultrawide not so much
DeBean
I find it silly (on non-ultra-wide monitors) but never used one for extended amount of time
wigneyr
I used one for a while then went back to a flat panel and holy shit it was disorientating for a while, my eyes were so used to the curved screen
Davajita
I think they go a little low on radius for some, but it’s generally better to have it curved on an ultrawide.
Frozen_Membrane
I’ve never used one but I may get a ultra wide in the future.

I like curves, but that doesn’t include monitors

Good. I went to a curved monitor, stopped noticing the curve quickly. I had to go back to a straight monitor, and didn’t notice it’s size and shape after a while either. They save space on a desk while not impacting visual quality.

I use a 32inch 4k240hz. It’s beautiful. I love having a curved display, once I started using one, it felt more immersive and nice!
I will say, it did take a few days to get used to. The impression from the screen scrolling sideways was weird at first, but eventually you get used to it. Nowadays, flat monitors feel weird with the corners so far away.
The big downside I’ve ran into is cheap monitor arms aren’t good with curved monitors because the center of gravity is further away, so they tilt easier than they should.

After you go curved ultra wide, you don’t go back. Playing strategy games such as Old World with the extra screen space is just an absolute treat
BadDogEDN
I have one, not a huge fan, but only been using it for a month. I didn’t buy it either my friend gave me it because he upgraded.

Cool but sorta overpriced

Honestly, I have a Samsung Odyssey, and i hated it. I took it to my office so I can have 3 windows of Chrome open on one screen. It’s great for office work, but I honestly can’t stand it for gaming.

16:9 34″ user, love it

Not bad tbf. It was weird using one until I got used to it. Then after a while I went back to a flat screen and it was weird again for a bit.
I don’t like the reliability issues they pose, as well as the increased difficulty in transporting
Rutgerius
I like em.

Have the Alienware AW3225QF and at first I was sceptical as I used flat screens for more than 20 years but after trying my curved Alien i was pleasantly suprised. Just take note that this is also a curved OLED so the WOW factor was even bigger
ero1Sama
21:9 with curve is nice
16:9 with curve is trash, even small one

Accidentally bough a curved 4k widescreen a year ago and just kept it because it was dirt cheap, like below 150$ from Amazon. Love it

Absolutely nope, never again. I’ve seen and helped diagnose so many cold bugs in this sub (after I had to deal with it myself) that I insist you too should NEVER buy bent displays. Beside cold bug as most pronounced issue, they also often have uneven backlight. You just get worse display for something you barely even could see, if you do, because I didn’t seen any difference compared to flat screen, those couple centimeters don’t play any significant role.

My previous monitor was a 32” flat, and I upgraded to a Samsung 34” curved ultra wide about 3 months ago. It took a little getting used to, but I’ve found it to be way more immersive and have less issues with eye strain with the curved screen. Very happy with it.

The Samsung G5 curved version cost less than the flat one.
This explains everything.

If you have an astigmatism they are less than ideal.

Well, as owner of 34″ Samsung G8 (or something like this) after a year I can definitely say that I couldn’t imagine using it without those curves. Back then, I had 27″ without curves and I never had a thought “hmm, I need it to be curved, I can’t live like that.”. As for a gaming this size a litle problematic, especiali when you want to play games before 2010. Even some modern games are not optimized for 3440×1440. I am going to change it for 27″ curved, also OLED. In my opinion it is sweet spot for gaming.

Pretty sure it’s better if it’s ultra wide.
But I don’t need ultra wide.
Space_art_Rogue
I’ve had one and drawing on it was terrible because of how bad the colors where.
I’ve gone back to a flat screen, Philips this time, beautiful colors and same price. Not making that mistake again.
bert_the_one
After seeing a curved monitor I was like no way I didn’t like it in the slightest, the reason was it makes images look warped or distorted, not for me, any of you guys feel this way?
volticizer
I sit over a meter from my desk so I switched back to flat, and it makes absolutely zero difference to me. I’m more interested in the resolution, refresh rate, panel type, contrast, colour accuracy, and HDR capability.

I carry the boys in CS2 on an ultrawide 1440p 144hz curved monitor.
bydevilz1
Probably better for reflections but Im so used to flat it would feel like a downgrade. Flat will just be the better all rounder.
They are normally used for ultrawide monitors so you dont have to move your head as much, and i would never use an ultrawide over a 2nd monitor*
* unless you could permanently section it off to be act separately, which probably isnt realistic

I love my Samsung odyssey g27 but the second I look from any angle than directly in front everything is streched in a weird way lmao but for racing fe its great for Picture edeting its not as good cause it can mess with the precision of working on it
