I truly dont see what people like about Reed other than "Aura". He's a literal tool of the NUS, perfectly content to sell everything he is to a corrupt and broken system. He's basically a robot programed to do a mission no matter the cost. He's more a force of nature than a character to me, which can be cool, but I'd love to hear other people's opinion on him.

I loved it as the sequence was bugged for me, so I died 4 times before it actually offered me right options. I don’t know what happened there, but it took me out of the story.

  2. ExitObjective267

Much as I like reed he is so far up his own ass when it comes to song that any plan other than his _must_ be wrong. At least this way Alex gets her well deserved retirement

  3. Osniffable

I’m with you man. Don’t feel bad about putting him down at all. I do wish we could loot that sweet coat too

  4. Juggernautlemmein

I mean, yeah, Aura. Reed is cool as fuck. I like him because he is cool as fuck and Idris did the lines really well.

  5. Muse4Games

Yeah fuck Reed. He makes it seem like he’s the good guy and not a pawn. Except he’s just a pawn who thinks he’s “the lesser evil”, “doing things that had to be done”. It felt really good going against him.

  6. I mean, he at least has some level of professional honor about it, even if it doesn’t change what he’s done and would do. I suspect he wouldn’t blame us for killing him, he knows how the game goes.

I was digging my time with him, but I forget what mission it was, he started talking down to me and I totally flipped on him. I wasn’t going to side with Songbird up until that point. He had to go.

You kill Reed cuz you dislike him.

I kill Reed cuz I think this is the best possible ending for him out of all choices.

    We are not the same.

  9. Gracchi9025

People like Rosalind Myers get to do what they do because people like Solomon Reed go along with it.

  10. Florina_Laufeyson

Yeah fuck Reed. I cant stand him after realizing how much he lies to you. Song lies, but its easy af to catch. Reed doesnt say *anything* honest. Like, ever.

  11. It’s because he’s voiced by Idris Elba who knocked it out of the park with the performance.

And also because the other choice is siding with a woman, so for some on here that’s just too much for them.

When he didn’t care that the voodoo boys runner (that we FORCED to help us) dies because of us, I was done. Then the execution of the twins didn’t sit right with me either

  13. daddyjohns

Is a broken system, but he knows how to game that system

  14. WDBoldstar

I like Reed for the same reasons I like Takemura:

    1. Incredibly Handsome

    2. Incredibly badass

    3. Strong code of honor

Unfortunately, they also both share a fatal flaw: Their code and loyalty is in service of a master that is undeserving of their fealty and in fact outright evil. That’s why I always shoot Reed and I always leave Takemura to send me a nasty voice mail.

  15. When it comes down to it, I enjoyed being around Reed more than I did So Mi, her character just didn’t sit right with me; all that “we’re in this together” and “I trust you” and “you’re all that I have” and “you’re the only one I can trust” from her felt way too calculating, you can feel she was scheming something from the get go.

  16. Songbird lies to you from the very beginning. NUSA is not really all that better, they are objectively worse.

But Reed made the effort to actually be honest, and candid to V, as much as he could all things considering.

Songbird gave no clues or information about V’s surgery, didn’t share the clinic they were both going to, no idea as to how her and V’s condition are correlated, she just basically trauma dumps you and hopes that you’re gullible enough to take the bait. Even without knowing what was going to happen, she made it pretty obvious because she made it her mission to give you the least information possible, and constantly put V in harm’s way as a desperate attempt to save her own skin.

Reed just pulls out a hard drive and gave you all the info about the surgeons they have available, provided that V helps him.

I personally like reed more than songbird despite sending songbird to the moon in my playthrough. That’s more due to my general dislike for songbird tho tbh.

From the start reed makes it crystal clear that the mission is his top priority. His interactions with slider and the twins show this( if I was in his position, id probably kill the twins too tbh, it’s too risky to leave them alive). He’s the same as takemura, a man bonded to his ideals even if it benefits terrible people. They both do not realize it until they lose everything.

Songbird spends the whole dlc trying to get V to help her by saying stuff like “you are the only person I can trust” and says stuff like “we both are together in this” only to betray you at the end. I empathize with her suffering and get why she did what she did and why myers cannot have her which is why I sent her to the moon, but her situation does not give her a get out of jail free card to screw others.

I personally hate her and don’t see any reason why I should like her but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna send her to a fate worse than death.

I sided with him on my first playthrough because a) Idris Elba b) I knew Song was lying the entire time (it’s fairly obvious admittedly) however I didn’t realise Reed was lying. I thought something was off with him but didn’t pay it much thought (because, again, Idris).

However, after playing through twice and getting Song’s ending and killing Reed I can definitely say that it the better ending. I don’t hate Reed or anything, not any more than most of the DLC characters who jerk V around, I just love tragic endings and that ending feels amazing, watching the rocket launch.

I also fucking hate that stealth section on Reed path so I ain’t ever doing that again.

I just finished the dlc today, got both the songbird endings + the so called secret final ending. Still have to do the reed endings. But it was so satisfying folding Reed. He just feels like a politician, like Myers. He’ll say and do what he needs to get the objective done and screw everything else.

Off Topic, but on the use of the Punisher GIF: Bernthal would have made a great companion or just story character in Cyberpunk 2077.

I hope to see him in more stuff in the future. He’d make a great Judge Dredd co-protagonist if they decide to do another movie like Dredd.

We need more games with Companion type characters. Not just Romance. Make em brother in arms style. Some one you call upon to blow shit up, raid bad guy dens with.

He was the main protagonist in Ghost Recon’s Breakpoint, and I enjoyed the heck out of him/was one of the great things that game did. Then making his outfit a “Skin” for your companion characters you ride with in helicopters and take down outposts with was awesome. He was the sole reason I bought a Call of Duty game. I’m still hopeful we will get a Shane Walsh skin for Fortnite.

I liked the tech pistol. It was cool and worked with my build

  22. RonnocKcaj

100% agree. the only reason I EVER do reeds ending is because gameplay wise it’s so cool. the only reason I’d ever do the tower ending is for an achievement, and even then I’d reload to a save in cynosure and put song out of her misery. fuck that fed

  23. dontyoudaredevi

I like reed his character is cool but I went down this route just because my V is a menace to society

  24. cole_pro_123

Nah, killing the twins was too much.

Cant preach ‘lesser of the two evils’ here
