I’d figure Street Fighter would be top, considering how many different versions of Street Fighter 2 have been released

  2. illinoishokie

Street Fighter has sold considerably fewer units than I would have assumed.

Found out about the Monster hunter series with monster hunter rise. I will now forever be a monster hunter simp.

  4. Now we just need a new Dino Crisis to make it onto this list

  5. BlueMooseOnFire

Still waiting for that new Mega Man game. Been ages!

  6. kvinter_games

Wow, so many! (or little… I get lost in such numbers).

I had no idea Devil May Cry sold so good. A friend of mine recently asked for a controlled to play it, maybe I should go and play it with him.

Mega man might sell more if they actually tried to make a high quality, new mega man game lol

  9. Charrbard

Breath of fire doesn’t even make the list. Sad days.

  10. Cipher-IX

The face of Capcom is Resident Evil and that should never be questioned.

Is Okami really a series yet? I know they announced a sequel, but until it’s out, is it really a series? Or is there another related game I don’t know about?

  12. Penguinazu

Lemme get uhhh… Dead Rising 2 remastered, thank ya.

I would’ve thought with more support for a longer period (lately) that street fighter would be much further ahead in sales vs mega man.

Bring back the blue bomber capcom! We’re long overdue!

  14. aeristheangelofdeath

So this is a reminder that we need more Mega Man and DMC?

Not having an open world Mega Man sequel or reboot to Mega Man Legends from the PS2 is such a missed opportunity. The IP has such huge potential imo.

Curious, MvC is not as popular as I assumed. 12 million is pretty much the number of Mortal Kombat sales as a single entry, like MKX or something

I’m still mad about how they ruined Dead Rising. That 4th game was a travesty.

A bit misleading. SF2 sold a ton of home ports, but general access to it was coin operated arcades. Is it revenue generated by coin, or arcade owners? A huge number of people have inserted a coin into a SF2 cabinet, even though thats not a high dollar value.

  19. I think this would be a little more interesting to see a timeline for some of these franchises. Resident Evil is in a niche genre as horror, but has been a consistent blockbuster in the video game world since its inception. Monster Hunter was even more niche and I don’t think had even a fraction of its sales until World absolutely blew up during covid times. Meanwhile I would guess that a majority of Megaman sales are from older titles. I wonder if they made a decent budget modern Megaman Legends game if it could have a similar resurgance/blow up like RE and Monster Hunter.

  20. I’m curious to see this broken down by number of releases in the series

  21. The #1 thing on my wishlist from them is a DMC1 remake. Hoping the rumors are true, but either way Capcom has been on an absolute tear lately and it’s great to see.

  22. SlyyKozlov

There was alot of people not understanding how Capcom could ever let the marvel license go to Arcsys but looking at the numbers it’s not too surprising lol

  23. No ace attorney love up in here 😞 join the visual novel lawyering gang

  24. They’re bringing back Omnimusha but won’t give us Dragon’s Dogma DLC? Even though the 3 Dragon’s Dogma games outsold the 4 or 5 Omnimusha ones? Damn you Capcom. If all your games didn’t kick ass I’d be way more angry.
