2d with hand drawn art? Be pretty cool, I suppose

ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO KILL SABURO ARASAKA?
NPO1
I wish they would address the verticality of night city in the sequel, so much stuff got cut due to time constraints and hardware limitations
ehjhey
So, I’ve seen this post from somebody else not too long ago. I’m curious, what exactly are you looking for from this image (or the TTRPG) that’s not in the game somewhere?

I felt that at night the vibe was 100% cyber punk. Maybe they just need to go the bad part of town at night.

Imagine if Night City looked like New York in Nobody Wants to Die

You want like a Warhammer 40K, Hive city that has like hundreds of millions of inhabitants. Necromunda style.
The_Downward_Samsara
Sorry, that Night City got nuked
lordtaco
The 10,000 neon signs in Japanese all got nuked. The game is a pretty accurate rep of a West Coast city though. More of a sprawl with a limited downtown. It probably wasn’t possible to make Night City a giant megalopolis in a video game, but it always will be in my heart

Personally, I hoped that the game’s setting remained more retro and with cold neon colours. This artwork feels cold and soulless (in a good way). The Cyberpunk setting we got is more like “GTA 5 set in dystopian California”

Nah we’re good , we love the one that exist
qwtd
This isn’t what we got?
Quirky-Note-7554
isn’t this a good amount of time before 2077 though?
hurlcarl
That’s……….literally the game. it’s just in an 80s style cover art.
allofdarknessin1
This looks like what we got except with taller buildings. Can you elaborate? As we already have some very tall buildings sprinkled throughout Cyberpunk 2077.
localtom
I would kill for and 80s retro future aesthetic cyber punk game. There is no decent blade runner game and far cry blood dragon isn’t open world
DukePookie
Maybe they’ll make a 2020 game. Oh wait.
TheDarkClaw
maybe we will get this with orion and the whole “Chicago gone wrong “Mike was talking about?
Desper_Taferro
I played the ttrpgback i the 90 until the pages fell of the book, if anything felt off in the video game was… daylight!
Blade Runner was a big influence and unintentionally we played Night City in the night. I have to admit it was amazing to feel the city during the day.
Other than that, 2077 brings maybe the best city in videogames ever.

Another Cyberpunk fan who thinks grey-brown color scheme = Cyberpunk.
Are you upset because there isn’t enough Art-Deco like NYC? Why would a California city have tons of Art Deco? If you are looking for brutalist towering monolithic skyscrapers that bloat the city then the game hits the mark. Please articulate.
Cyberpunk fans who want “that cyberpunk” can’t articulate that they really just want American art style with a grey-brown color palette like a CoD game where every street light is out.
janek500
I was afraid that we’ll gonna get some cheap-looking purple neon-stuffed game being driven by cool 80s craze with boring synthpop playing in the radio. Meanwhile, we’ve received diverse world, where multiple music genres evolved in its own way, and aesthetics does not look like AI-generated 80s aesthetics wallpaper.
Unlimitles
lol why?
I don’t think we would have been happy with cyberpunk Duke Nukem.
bape120
does anyone have a 4k or high quality version of this?
Emage_IV
a lot of the illustrations were most likely made with artistic freedom and no set direction, kinda like how a lot of games, novels, etc from around that time were often vastly different (especially considering how recent Blade Runner was around that time)
Wise-Ad-3506
Instead we got cyberpunk 2077 :/
OCCULTGOBLIN
Seeing this makes me wonder if cyberpunk 2 is going to be a prequel.
TheSubs0
So like, 80s punk aesthetics?

Does this not look like the night city we got? This post is a reach
