    Meh

In the lore, she ferries soul killed netrunners and weaker AI’s to a virtual city she has set up to protect them.

It’s possible she’s going to ferry the Mikoshi survivors in a similar way; and that V and Johnny just interpreted it as eating them. Alt simply said they wouldn’t understand.

    Or

It’s possible she’s actually eating their Mikoshi survivors to gain power and knowledge.

So depending on what she’s actually doing, she’s either being selfish and power hungry while getting revenge on Arasaka. Or she’s being benevolent and helping those beings across the digital divide.

Unfortunately without more info we can’t know which.

Indifferent. She doesn’t really care about humanity one way or another.

  3. solarflares4deadgods

Neither. The entity that Alt became operates beyond human concepts of morality and humanity.

  4. SolSabazios

She had many opportunities to do horrible things to V and his friends. She clearly feels bad for you and wants you to have a fair choice. Likely, the inherent mercy and fairness in Alt are permanent fixtures in her program.

Neither. Her designs are outside our “world” and therefore beyond our comprehension of good/evil. Or put another way, She likely sees herself as benevolent, but also doesn’t really consider other views or perspective. Specifically because they do not apply to her and her domain.

Tbh I am not sure look like there are only AIs like Alt that either trying to help you or outright kill you. Alt is not helping you out of the goodness of her heart as she is obviously absorbing all the digital souls in Mikoshi to make herself stronger (not complaining either since Saburo is among them) but she also kept to her word & tried to help V by spitting V and Johnny apart.

Although she can’t cure V but it is not really her fault as the damage from the relic was too severe. So in a way she has benevolent intentions.

Personally I get the feeling she just has this overwhelming apathy rather than benevolence or malevolence

  8. Her goals aren’t good or evil, at least not as far as humans would be concerned. Human could be a potential obsticle, if she cared about them at all.

Neither. She is stripped of all humanity and exists only for the continuation of knowledge. She isn’t even a She anymore. She is data, bytes, and sparks. In the immortal words of Rick & Morty:

“Fuck off, I’m a Time God!”

  10. she seems like a determinist, like hard cold facts are all that matter, from that we can gleam that she’s not necessarilly cruel or at least something like that would be “beneath” her, but the abscence of cruelness doesn’t mean there is kindness in there, I do think she shows a bit of kindness and fondness for V and Johnny respectively, but that’s because our paths end up crossing for mutual benefit, without the mention of mikoshi we probably wouldn’t even be a lasting memory to her. Then there’s the fact we dont actually know what her objectives are, survival obviously, but is she one of the rogue AI’s now? does any of her leftover humanity prompt her to be neutral rather than agressive or kind? what’s she gonna do once the wall falls? Is she helping the wall fall? does she even care about that?

  11. I look at alt as almost a force of nature, she’s not good or bad, she’s just here.

  12. hbryster96

Isn’t Alt more like a force of nature at this point? Like, she’s neither good nor bad, just is?

  13. RenoxDashin

Why can’t it be both? If reality shows us anything, choices are never black and white. I see her as more of a chaotic neutral

  14. deathsamuri

Based on her visual alone I always assumed she was evil (red with a hidden face)

  15. Plane-Education4750

Benevolent to her, malicious to everyone else

  16. TypicalRoll9712

Malitious, obviouslly, she is from beyond blackwall
