  1. Remember when ai frames was really cool for people with low end builds and not a form of “optimisation”

  2. ohpuhlise

an 8 core cpu as a minimum is crazy when you see that the most common amount of cores on steam is 6

  3. I_Am_Sharticus_

Minute details on cartoon designs and over 9000 loot drops on screen at once. Eh.

  4. LordStark01

I can easily run Expedition 33 but not Boderlands 4. It doesn’t make any sense.

  5. ClammyClamerson

Typically you can get by with an equally fast 6 core CPU. Doom: TDA had similar CPU requirements. My 7600x3D handled it well.

  6. SomeBoxofSpoons

Mind you, we’re talking about a game that can run on Switch 2.

  7. blushingwifey

I was hyped, but now I’m just looking at my bank account like 😬.

  8. Ok-Rush-4445

Surprised no one mentioned the 150 dollar bundle that doesn’t come with the game. What a fucking joke

  9. SugaryVelvetExtra

Just when I thought my wallet could get a break… guess again!

I’ve already been downvoted to oblivion for this, but there is absolutely no reason Borderlands needs those specs with it’s art style.

Just the garbage Unreal Engine 5 and DRM combined with laziness.

  11. I don’t think people need more reasons to not buy this game but they keep adding stuff to the list

  12. So an overpriced game, made by a company who’s recent track record is pretty poor, and an out of touch CEO, is also likely to be unoptimized? As if I needed any more reason to not buy this game.

  13. So, optimised like shit and this just moved the bar enough to not be as noticeable?

Wheres the power going to need a 8 core CPU??

  14. Unreal Engine 5 and DRM? Who’s ready for negative/mixed Steam reviews Day 1? Yah, I am!

    What a shocker. NOT. 🙄

  15. Cpu heavy game if it runs like borderlands 3 its gonna fry some systems

  16. drunkentenshiNL

I’m not even touching this game after the BL2 nonsense.

  17. robofailure

Ah yes borderlands, the series famous for its cutting edge graphics

  18. MyUserNameIsSkave

Half of the cores for the game and the other for the data mining ?

  19. i know borderlands is a big name. but after borderlands 3 i dont really see hype for number 4 anywhere at all.

Min spec isn’t that bad, yeah it’s 8 core but it’s a CPU from 7 years ago. Recommended specs are also pretty irrelevant half the time, especially when they don’t even say what resolution and FPS that’s recommended for.

The main takeaway should be the minimum VRAM, this game REQUIRES an 8GB gpu as a MINIMUM spec in a world where you can go drop $400+ on a brand new 2025 GPU just to meet minimum spec, and this trend is not stopping. Super curious how this does on Z1/Z1e handhelds, I have a Legion Go and played quite a bit of Tiny Tina’s wonderlands and it played great, sounds like BL4 won’t.

So glad I moved to console. I don’t have to worry if my system will run it or not.

Sure there might be bugs but games usually have good performance on console.

  22. Acrylic_Starshine

It will be interesting how this sells after the review bombings on Steam.

  23. I used to love Borderlands until I found out how much of a dingleberry Randy is. Every year is a lazier piece of the IP.

  24. Borderlands without PhysX just doesnt feel right 🙁

  25. Nosereddit

im sure some devs have some kind of business with Nvidia and AMD becuase at this point its stupid , how much the min req are being asked for lately
