My husband is a long time COD player and finally convinced me to play. I hate games that startle me. š (I'm the stereotypical wife that can't jump) I love Zelda BOTW though.
The above was my best result playing solo. I've played for about 3 days now and got to level 23. Just got 2nd playing on a team with the hubby but I didn't have a lot of kills cuz my husband had 26 kills. šš¤· (He did die and I had to buy him back in)
Tips? Tricks? I'm aware of and utilize bunkers/huts. (Coded doors and keycards) I feel like I'm a good shot but there are soooo many buttons and different things I have to do…and do quickly…It's overwhelming.
Best ways to level up and improve my loadouts?
Thanks in advance!
I should mention, I was laid off so I have nothing but tiiiime to learn. š

I think the main thing that helped me level up was focusing on strategy when engaging, if you watch the big streamers they know when to fight and when to ārunā
Learn how to rotate and when to, understand where youāre exposed and how you can counter.. i.e. smokes, cover, vehicle.
If youāre not willing to put time into snipers donāt use them, itās better to run, krig, swat 556 w conversion, kilo rather than trying to snipe key word trying.
Iād suggest warming up on casuals then switching to regular so you can get challenged and get better but if itās too hard casual isnāt bad bc itās good end game practice because itās almost guaranteed youāll get to the endgame.
Keep playing and you will eventually get better. When you die try to figure out why you died and communicate with your team mates. As for leveling up either multiplayer if you bought it or do contracts in warzone. You can also try out the casual mode to understand the game better. For loadouts you can search them on youtube
1. Try Warzone Bootcamp for personal aim/movement practice
2. General Strat I use to increase win chance: go for recon contracts, know the map ahead of time, buy UAVs, and get loadie ASAP. I think youāll find itās the most hated, but itās hated for a reason – it works.
3. Practice being wary of your Comms, callouts, pings. They make a world of difference when 2-4 people are aligned and you essentially know where every enemy is all the way through the game.
Have fun and enjoy!
Best perks are PERK 1. Survivor, PERK 2. Tracker, PERK 3. Tempered ~ solid beginner perks you can switch perk 3 and use ghost but I find it sometimes hard to find shield late game in certain circles like when it ends near dam.
I would spectate the people who bested me for a while to see their plays. Helped me improve.
Honestly itās just a lot of repetition and practice. I didnāt start playing until 2023 and Iām well above average now. Anyone can get good with enough time. I watched a lot of streamers to see what they do and how they play.
Youāre doing way better than you think, hitting level 23 in just a few days and placing 4th solo is no joke. Donāt worry about not getting tons of kills; every team needs someone who plays smart, not just someone who rushes for kills. Tactical players, the ones who buy back teammates, use cover well, and stay aware of the map, are often the reason a squad makes it to the final circle. Itās normal to feel overwhelmed at first, but the muscle memory will kick in soon. Youāve already got great instincts, just keep going and have fun with it.
Learn rotational aim assist, there are some good tutorials on YouTube, always ping your enemy’s and good loot for your fellow squad mates, stick with your team and have eachothers backs.find yourself a meta build and stick with that gun for a while,it’s your best friend….. remember to blink now and then .good luck š„š„š„
Bless your soul, your husband is a lucky man
I played Fortnite for years and struggled making the jump to COD. The thing that helped me was playing BO6 Multiplayer just to get comfortable with the movement and some of the guns/items. Plus with multiplayer you get into way more fights and come right back after you die.
Load into a locally hosted MP match. Low/mid level bots and jack thier health up. Practice beaming head shots.
Also watch some YouTube videos on strategy. I like the pinwheel.
Main thing, repetition repetition repetition. Stick to whatever guns u feel are good to use, and stick with them. When you understand how a weapons performs in Close Quarters or Mid/Long Range, figure out what strengths and weaknesses it has, and then you can pick and choose how and when to use⦠say the C9 and Kilo. C9 does great in the close range, has decent mid range, and not so great long range. The Kilo gets outclassed in Close Quarters, but in a pinch itāll do a decent job (switching to your secondary is faster than reloading in a pinch), but the Kilo does good in Mid/Longe Range. Donāt worry about movement too much, it takes time to get use to, best counter is to utilize RAA (Rotational Aim Assist) by strafing left/right while shooting at a enemy (if possible). Aim Assist is insanely strong when you know how to use it, especially in close quarters and even mid/longe range fights.
Snipers like the Kar98k, HDR, LR 7.62, LW3A1 Frostline, etc are high skill weapons, the payoff is within certain range they can instantly down someone, but are also hard to use and if you donāt know what your doing, you essentially become a easy target. Using a sniper effectively takes time to really get good with using a sniper, I consider myself good with snipers, but iāve been playing Warzone since WZ1ās Black Ops Cold War Integration, so Ive had ~4-5 years to figure out how to use them effectively.
Donāt be afraid to watch some youtube videos on how to āget goodā as everybody had to start somewhere, there are plenty of great videos that are really informative on how to play, when to fight, when to disengage, ways to do good rotations, how to outplay enemies to put fights in your favor especially when the odds are not in your favor (especially in fights where your outnumbered, like 1v2, 1v3, 1v4, etc)
Once again, Repetition, Repetition, Repetition, āgetting goodā just takes time. The fact your already at the skill level your at to be Lvl 23 and do pretty good in BR Casual, is a big step. If you want to learn how to fight real players without having to re-queue a lot into fresh matches, donāt be afraid to play Resurgence, yeah it can be sweaty, but you get to come back as long as one of your teammates is alive when the resurgence timer ends.
This is what I can think of as far as how to help someone new to Warzone get the hang of it. The game can be frustrating at times, but just donāt quit, push past the times you want to turn off Warzone and play something else, and over time, the skill will come to you, and then you and your husband can play at or near the same skill level eventually.
Do at least 3 recons to know the path forward of the final battle, know when to engage and when to run. š
Quit now the games so shit
Contracts are a big thing to load up with things you are comfortable with (ie your loadout). I always try to run a recon and scavenger within the first circle so that I am fully loaded with my weapons and an armor satchel (it can hold eight spare plates instead of five).
Then I try to trickle in some more recons to get an idea of where the gas will ultimately push you towards.
Congrats on learning the game and hopefully you enjoy it.
