Clearly you aren’t a true fan! Randy Pitchford said only “true fans” will pay 80 USdollars for mediocrity!

Bargain bin in 2 months.
Comfy-Boii
Huh, I am pleasently surprised it isnt 80 euro. I wouldn’t expect anything below 70 for modern AAA games – it has kinda been the norm for years now sadge
Background_Elk_8005
$69.99 instead of the $59.99 for last decade. Not as bad of a jump as I was expecting. I was planning on $79.99-89.99 being the normal. Not thrilled to spend more but knew at some point the price was going to go up from the price i was paying in 2001.

70 dollars it the standard for years now, And who still buys deluxe editions?
Agarillobob
whats in the super deluxe?
Nivosus
Dont worry, the rejects will blame Nintendo for it soon before pre-ordering the deluxe bundle.
Lakku-82
Literally the pricing of every game on this gen though? At least the 69.99
kwokie
The extra additions are only skins and future DLC’s. There’s no early access BS, or P2W fomo shite, just cosmetics. The price for the standard edition is the ‘norm’ for AAA games imo, I see nothing wrong with this.

For all its faults, Borderlands, more often then not, follows a pretty darn honest model. That $99 dollar version likely has multiple DLCs baked in which almost always provide new classes, new locations, raid bosses, and tons of new guns. It’s actually pretty valuable.
Can you get it cheaper later? Of course, always. But compared to Splitgate charging $70 for a skin pack, I have a hard time hating on Gearbox for how they sell Borderlands.
*I reserve the right to take this back if they *completely* change course on BL4 but I find that unlikely.
ThatGuyFromFlatLand
The smart thing is to just wait at least a few months, I know that’s hard because we all want to play our new games as soon as possible. But if you wait the game will hopefully be cheaper and in a better state after a few patches.
grelgen
are those tariff prices?
RDGtheGreat
They gave away the last two Borderlands games 3 years after their initial release. Just saying.
Sockoflegend
I’m going to get hated here but games haven’t kept up with inflation for a long time. It was inevitable that this would happen eventually.
Given the choice between this and publishers taking the microtransaction route I prefer this. Some, of course, will do both, which is sad but we do have consumer choice still and that ultimately effects decisions as much as we might feel powerless against it.
SerCharles
is this not normal pricing?
OiItzAtlas
I mean normal pricing is fine but man that Super deluxe edition is 50% more expensive than bl3 super deluxe.
Reaper621
In 2003, I bought half life 2 for 60 dollars. That was 22 years ago. Is it supposed to be 60 bucks per game forever?
curiously_curious3
I guess OP doesn’t understand currency exchange?
brownarmyhat
lol what is happening to people’s minds. We’ve had 70 dollar games since 2020
person719
Looks fine to me 🤷♂️
Accomplished-Lie2447
Not that bad. I wouldn’t mind paying £70. I thought that was the norm
LaserGadgets
Saw the trailers and the first half an hour of BL3, I was like “save bet”, bought the deluxe for 100 on day one. NEVER again. Story was so damn bad and I play it just for the campaign!!
That made me set up the rule “never pay over 40 for a game”.
MouldySponge
Brah. Just use a VPN to set up payment via online credit card and then for all they know you live in Argentina.. games range from 50 cents to $5 in Argentina, or so I’ve heard.
TheGreatSciz
Sony is still selling stuff for $69.99. They are trying to reign in Microsoft and Nintendo
PhantomTissue
€130, Jesus. Wonder if it’ll be $150 USD.
Jusca57
I MAYBE play when it became Free
Davo_
to be fair the super deluxe includes by the looks of it all the vault hunters, new maps and all the other stuff they’ll release. Borderlands 2 even did this shit, launching with the 4 and adding more stuff over time. not new.

Make it work!
(wait a year and buy it off G2A at a discount)
NaCl_Miner_
I’ll give it 2 years and pick it up with all DLC for a 3rd of the price.
After a mediocre 3rd entry in the series this is not a day 1 play for me.
Kazan2112
Most normal pricing ever though?
What a Strange Post
Keviticas
Ugh. Yeah this game ain’t gonna be worth $70.
They seriously opened Pandoras box with $80 games, every single new game is getting viciously judged at its starting price point now
pineapollo
Switch 2 sells nearly 4 million units, Nintendo glazers praise the sales success
People voted with their wallet, $80 is clearly not the upper limit for consumers. Fuck em, stop playing this shit on release, only buy it when they discount it heavily. Finish your backlog, you do not need to play anything on release.
sephtheripper
Ubisoft type pricing. Big no no
thebiltongman
Don’t pre-order games, folks. You’re gonna be disappointed.
MedonSirius
For me the Super Deluxe Version IS the Standard Version. Every other version is just stripped from the main game. Think about it: there is already so much “more” content before the game even is on the market. Therefore there shouldnt be other version than Borderlands 4. And after some time they can release new content. But since it’s like that i assume (lol wrote ass) that the gamers are at fault, giving these companies more than they are worth
F4t-Jok3r
I’m not gonna pay this
Corne777
I’ve bought every game since borderlands 2 on release date. I’m not sure I’m gonna bother with it on release date this time. It’ll be cheaper 6 months later, even more discounted a year later, might as well wait it out. There’s plenty of other games to play.
Quito98
Why isn’t 80 euro in EU. Usually 70$ are 80 in EU. This is strange.
Dank_Slurpee
It’ll be discounted before Christmas if it trends like BL3.
Belydrith
70€ is pretty much the normal price at this point, like it or not. The first party publishers and some console games are going to 80€ by now, so not sure why this is seen as problematic in this instance?
RagnarRodrog
I won’t ever purchase a game that’s over 60 euros, I can wait.
Star_BurstPS4
69$ is standard what’s the problem that only $10 bucks more then a N64 game when they were out
owlboarland69
3 wasn’t great and I’m not too excited about this one. Gonna wait for it to hit a steam sale lol.
