Prepping to move across the country, so I decided to pack away all of my fancier desktop gear and run something much simpler. In some ways this is actually kinda better because I now have all 3 major platforms represented for my needs.

On the left is a 2012 iMac with an i5 2400S, 8GB RAM, a 120GB SSD, and Radeon 6000 graphics. It runs Linux Mint and is my primary system.

In the middle is the newest addition, which still needs some work but is functionally complete. It’s a 2009 iMac with a Core2 Duo, 4GB of RAM, a 120GB SSD, and a GeForce 9800GT. It runs the DOSDude MacOS Catalina Patcher.

On the right is an HP x360 13″ laptop, with busted hinges, spun around and stuck together, held upright with an iPad stand. It has an i7-1165-G7, 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Intel integrated graphics. It runs Windows 11. I use it for my development and production needs.

Realistically this is all the horsepower I need. I don’t do anything crazy. So far everything has been running smoothly and I’m quite satisfied. I still have some bits and Bobs to take care of but for the most part everything is ready to go

Idk what sub this would go in, it’s not quite amazing , it’s not quite terrible but it’s definitely not average.
