What a coincidence, I’ve doubled down on never playing them.
I find it funny how corpos think that forcing something onto gamers will somehow work. People have already spoken, and this game will be DOA unless it gets a very dramatic rework.
Marathon probably won’t be what they hope but yeah I’d expect them to keep trying on live service. They already bought studios who specifically specialize in that type of game, so the alternative is just shutting them down anyway. May as well try to get something out of it.
It’s funny that like 5 years ago everyone was shitting on them because they only made single player games and they didn’t have their own Halo or something now people are shitting on them for trying at all lol.

Is it just me or does marathon somehow seem less viable than Concorde? It’s riddled with controversy, extraction shooter players don’t like it, hero shooter players don’t like it, and destiny 2 players don’t like it. Who is this for?

Well they have to say this. Unless they want to completely destroy morale at Bungie. Imagine working there right now when the internet is mostly saying negative things about the project you’ve been working on for years. The parent company must be supportive at a time like this.
Sony really banking on Bungie considering they overpaid for them. I imagine Marathon will have the regular Bungie issues of delaying fixes for months, fixing something and it’s still broken months later, and fixing cheeses right away.
