I’m playing this game thinking whoever’s left is going to want to heal off and that I’m going to lose because that’s just not how I play the game. I have not been playing very long. I normally do multiplayer, but there was nobody left when the game ended. There wasn’t a final team or anything of that nature. Is as common as this something that somebody else has run into before?

There was a post similar to this like 2 weeks ago. You had a cheater in your lobby exploiting to have the Zone Pull not affect them, nothing more.
Maybe this is what you meant by “heal off”, but there is a tactic to gather stims and self revives and just survive in the gas longer than the person holding down the middle. You can watch streams of people doing it for minutes.
Totally possible that’s what happened here. Someone is just holed up in a nearby building with gas masks laying around them, stimming and self reviving like crazy.

Also chocking ping in the minimap is available now. So better fight than die.
In this situation most probably the other guy is cheater/have more stims around him. In worse case – bug.
Happened to me and my squad in our very first game when Verdansk was re-released. Gave the win to some random single player.

All I can think about is the fact that you had 3 dead teammates, $30k, and the buy in front of you, and you didn’t use it.
He probably pre squirreled some boxes and had stim loadout doing some bullshit tactics. I think the further in gas from center end should have a multiplier speed effect to prevent this. You won in my eyes. Playing gas wait out with a bunch of bullshit is so damn tacky and shouldnt be possible in the game.
Someone had a bigger syringe.
