Wait what?? Why is no-one talking about this?

Mostly because it has limited potential for being an upgrade option, if you’re already on a platform that won’t get any updates, might as well aim for the best or second best CPU for it already, namely 5800X3D and 5700X3D. At least you’re squeezing as much as you can from it

Because you can’t get it outside of the US and even then I think it was a limited store run.

I would have probably gotten one if it weren’t for being in the UK lol

AMD really not giving up on the AM4 platform, soon we will have 5300/5200x3d and Im sure that we will have 5900/5950x3d too.

Isn’t it a US exclusive only available from Microcenter?

This is propably just leftover silicon that does not meet the requirements for a higher bin part.
Since I assume, the TSMC 7 nm process ist pretty dialed in, there is only a low quantity of low quality chips, which is why this things availability is so limited.

I’d buy one, but I imagine it’s going to be US only again with very limited supply

    Because it’s a 5. Gamers are using a 7 or 9

Well it was release on the 5th of June, so it is basically brand new. I can’t find any news about what market it is in.

There are NO US retailers with it… So maybe it is in Asain countries. Even Microcenter who got one of these special X3d Cpus just for their locations at first doesn’t have it.

When you go to aliexpress they show several posts for it, but when you click on them they are actually selling some old AM3 CPUs then a few intel CPUs are in the mix too.

Yet it says it launched on the 5th according to AMD. But again no one has it.

When a launch is thin it isn’t even a paper launch but a literal invisible launch who do you expect to talk about it?

Maybe OEMs are getting them to sell and the OEMs don’t have the systems ready to launch yet? We literally don’t know. There are several articles about it. Most of them don’t talk about price or where to get it or anything useful other than saying by a 7600x or 9600x instead. Then you have people posting reviews and test videos almost a year ago claiming to have CPU that launched on June 5th of this year I had to double check that I didn’t miss read the launch date. Those videos are likely BS someone made when they announced the CPU.

TLDR: No one is talking about it because as nears as I can see it launched on the 5th of June but no places are selling it. So it is likely in the hands of OEMs, or a market I am not looking at (Out side of US and Asian markets)
