I was in the store for something completely different, but I decided to walk by the BYO aisles and noticed these, instant decision! Wasn’t even looking for a 5090 but kind of wanted one at the $2k mark. Only a 10% extra for the Astral and I walked out of there with it!

Card was brand new, didn’t even look like it was ever installed, had all the peels etc and even the accessories!! Haven’t tried undervolting yet, and a quick OC pushed me above 15k on Steel Nomad with a 9800X3D.

Nice find. Curious why a microcenter would have it priced like that.

  2. For-Cayde

Yo congrats and no hate, but
I just wanted to state how insane it is to considerate to get the consumer flagship for 2,2k instead of 3k as highly discounted deal.
    We’re truly fucked

  3. Astronomical-boy

I’m curious, what case and coolers are you using?

  4. Proof-Stock7055

roughly $1200 less compared to the original price…. more than a third… seems like a great deal, was there any accessory missing or was it just an opened and returned package? Truth is even if it was just the GPU on a static bag it would still be worth it in my opinion as long as it has warranty… Some people who are not sponsored by brands purchase GPUs for reviews and return them within the 15 day window, might have been the case… Does it have full warranty or just a year?

  5. CenturioLabia

My god.. I could build a whole pc for that money. A decent one too. Where have we come.

  6. Consistent_Research6

2200$ for a GPU, how much do you make a month, 10-15.000$, you must be rich.

  7. Icy-Way5769

No doubt you got relatively good deal there … crazy tho how suddenly 2k for a goddamn gpu is considered a good deal … lol

  8. Dense_Row2811

    It says incomplete
    What was missing?

  9. Glinckey

$2200 is still too much even for a flagship

  10. LazyBum36

Happy for you and you’re allowed to do whatever you want with your money…but you’re part of the problem.

  11. Deceiver999

Lofl I can’t believe people are happy to buy a graphics card for $2200. Talk about being tricked by a business.

You know things are truly fucked when we‘re posting about how lucky we are to only spend $2.1K on a single GPU.

The current PC market has made me move my focus to consoles and posts like this just remind me it was a good call.

Man, my local MC shaves off the smallest discounts and then inches it up over time.

  14. Enjoying_A_Meal

Beautiful PC. Looks better than a lot of PCs with too many colored RGBs. Also makes me want to drink Fanta.

  15. Check if you got all the ROPs, that could be a reason it was $2200

  16. Hendi32

    God I wish the 5080 Astral wouldn’t be such a bad buy… It’s such a beautiful card

  17. Flonkerton66

We live in a world now where someone brags with pure happiness for paying $2k for a graphics card. lol madness

  18. meinkun

lol. cool but. it’s a gpu. 2.2k$. gpu. and unless you eager to spend such amount of money i think you wouldn’t care if it was 2k or 5k. jesus…

  19. I’m seeing more and more of these posts, does that mean that GPU prices are starting to stabilize, globally?

I mean, they’ve already pretty much stabilized in my country and have become readily available, but the baseline prices are always inflated here, so…🥹

  20. Ok_Error_5835

People buying the 50 series truly shows nvidia how far they can push their shitty pricing and still have people buy it out of FOMO

  21. icer816

2k for a GPU? It might be a good price for that GPU compared to other prices, but that’s a terrible price regardless. You should be able to build a good PC for 2k lmao, JUST a GPU? Legitimately pathetically terrible price. You got a discount, you still paid more than I’d ever even consider (like, I ordered a 9060 XT, which was 550 CAD (approx 405 USD) after tax, and that was still a touch expensive).

  22. I still don’t trust the 40 and 50 series cards won’t burn down the house.

  23. theromingnome

Guy is flexing over spending $2,100 on a GPU. Remember when you could build a whole system for that?

  24. socokid

    Tag says: Incomplete, Open Box

    What was it missing?

  25. AshenYggdrasil

That Case looks sick man! What RGB hex code is that?

  26. JetEpicgamer

Im not In a big hurry to upgrade, so I will try to only buy a gpu at msrp so immediately 4090 and most 50 series are off the table 😂

  27. MrVernon09

    Hopefully, your cables won’t melt.

  28. OFHeckerpecker

Bro 2k I don’t know it will cost in 2 years ~1k is it really worth it?

  29. Kaneida

Good looking build. What is the rest of the specs?

  30. sky_shazad

That’s Awesome. Happy for you dude

  31. Legitimate_Earth_

It’s the none OC version? I think the OC version is a bit more expensive. I’m in the market for a 5090 just having a hard time deciding if I want a liquid cooled version or an air cooled version lol.

  32. SparsePizza117

Honestly if I saw one for that price, I’d do that too

  33. Monkai_final_boss

I don’t understand why people buy this thing, it’s crazy expensive and hardly any actual upgrade to the 40 series.
