Love it. I figured they were headed in this direction since they were splitting between remakes and sequels. Now just be sure to give psvr2 support and we’re golden
Crafty-Couple792
They should make it a standard for all of their games tbh
Prestigious-Cup-6613
I think every Resident Evil fan across history is going to all come together to play this game
InfernoJesus
Awesome! I like the third person perspective way more

Now if we could just get back fixed camera angles…
Iggy_Slayer
This is concerning. I’ve never seen a game do both well at all.
The problem here is they have to basically make two different games. Combat wise what works in one isn’t going to work in the other.
Op3rat0rr
I wonder if they’re doing this to develop for VR
Cooz78
it says the game recommend playing in first person

RE fans, if I never really played Resident Evil, where would be a good place to start?
THEzwerver
3rd person requires major level adaptations compared to first person. Just think of how much extra space is required for the camera to not get constantly stuck on geometry. Things like doorframes need to be scaled up significantly (look at red dead redemption, for example). For a claustrophobic game like this particular Resident Evil series, this might change the vibe a bit.
I’m not saying this is a terrible idea, but it certainly would be a challenge.

Which was the design around though? That’s the important piece. When designing 3rd person, corners hallways what you can see as the player shifts dynamically compared to first person. Also how’s the gameplay going to be structured then?
This doesn’t bode well. As with first person usually enemies spawn or funnel in ways toward your main field of view.
Iunno man this makes me worried wished they’d just stick to crafting third person experience.

It’s 2025, people should be able to play games their favorite way as long as it doesn’t compromise on the quality, props to Capcom and hopefully the quality holds up
Background_Parfait25
No way in hell this would work well. The game has to be designed with one perspective in mind therefore the other perspective is just gonna feel awkward and janky. Re fans celebrating this are stupid as hell.
Unless by some miracle the game’s combat and level design changes depending on the chosen perspective, this is just at best a novelty.
Moribunned
Alright, I’m listening.

Is this gonna be one of those games very rare instances of games designed for third person first and they give you a first person option?
Shau1a
This game is going to be a big success. I can’t wait for February.
Lord_Smile
Why no 2nd person tho? Game devs can’t help but release unfinished games anymore /s
DontMentionMyNamePlz
If you don’t like a mode, don’t use it. Lmao people complain about extra options just as much as they do the lack thereof
Nem3sis2k17
I’m pretty sure the multi billion dollar company Capcom can find a way to make this work really well guys. Especially considering this seems to be a feature that was in mind from the start.

Very interesting. The 3rd person games are by far more fun to play, but the first person ones are infinitely better to me for tension and horror

nice
Didn’t RE:Village have both 1st and 3rd person?
