Sys spec- i7 12700KF, RTX4090, 32GB DDR4, 1440p 144Hz monitor
Recently I noticed a significant dip in GPU usage and performance on Warzone, no matter if its native, DLSS or DLAA. The GPU just refuses to push anywhere near the supposed power draw and usage. The only change I did was reposted the thermal paste on the CPU. What could I do to gain performance?

Ouch that ping
You got a cpu bottleneck there 12700k is getting old for warzone. You’re 4090 is only used for like 40%,
Im getting between 270 and 350 with my 4090 and 7800X3D at 1440p lowest settings.
Upgrade you’re cpu to 9800X3D and you have amazing fps.
Also try to get a new screen a 4090 is overkill for 144hz
CPU is letting you down mate
Check the cpu temperatures. Check that it is properly seated. Seems to me the cpu is overheating due to poor contact if this happened right after thermal paste refresh.
Otherwise run a display driver uninstaller.
I got 5800X3D on a 4080 and churning out 165FPS on 1440p on high settings.
A 4090 is definitely not a sloppy card. Get a new CPU.
While I agree with the people saying you’re cpu is getting bottlenecked. This last update really fucked up my pc also and I get constant stuttering. Hopefully it’s something they fix sooner rather than later but the two little update since have done nothing to fix it so
Are you playing from Steam or Battlenet?
We can swap. You get my 3080 ti that doesn’t stutter in warzone and i will get your faulty 4090
Looks like a bottleneck issue caused by CPU, but bro u got more important issues, like what is that ping?? I don’t know it’s caused by your internet connection or the game itself, i have high ping issue aswell but i know that’s on the game not my connection, because there is not enough players in my region when i play and the game puts me in EU lobbies. Next important issue u have is your monitor bro, i mean even if u solve the bottleneck issue and bumb your frames up to +220, you’re not gonna see those frames, u need atleast a 185hz monitor.
Game is CPU heavy not GPU heavy.
A lot of people seem to forget, or don’t understand, that Warzone is a very CPU intensive game. This is the reason why chips like the 7800X3D/9800X3D see such substantial performance gains. In a game like Warzone, a 4090 will never really be able to spread it’s wings unless the CPU is able to keep up with the frames, or if you are playing at 4K.
Couple of questions:
* What is your CPU util while playing?
* What is your FPS while playing?
If your CPU is at or near 100% util and your FPS is at or above your monitor refresh rate(which it should be), I wouldn’t worry about numbers unless you plan on upgrading your CPU/MOBO/RAM.
