Not often enough. After playing HL Alyx, I don’t find much interest in VR projects.

  2. DustLust69

The problem is not ” how often ”.

Maybe rubson could resolve your pb.

  3. Bacon-muffin

I don’t have one but I like rhythm games so every once in a blue moon I debate getting one for that light saber game where you smack the blocks. Figure it’d double as a bit of an exercise.

  4. HastySperm

Barely, went through 3 oculus quests, mostly played beat saber and never touched any other games for a minute until I sold it

  5. yabucek

    About this often yeah lol.

There was a period when I was playing beat saber daily, but then just kinda got tired of it and haven’t touched the Quest 2 for like a year.

Then I tried to set it up for Asseto Corsa one random day, spent around two hours:

    1. updating the headset and all the various applications it needs to connect to the PC
    2. finding out that the process I used to use to connect has been deprecated
    3. figuring out how to do it the new and “improved” way
    4. giving up and going back to Virtual Desktop because it’s probably good enough
    5. restarting AC like 7 times to select the proper settings to make it work
    6. driving one very short race

After that I was already over the urge to play and the headset was getting super uncomfortable, so back into the drawer it went.

I still use mine between 1-5 times a week depending on my mood (Into the radius 2, beat saber, pavlov, convrgence)

  7. Particular-Poem-7085

just get into simracing and spend another 1500.

It was fun up until the point where I tried to punch something just beyond my brick wall and mangled my hand. Luckily didn’t break it, the oculus controller got the worst of it and barely had a scratch, but still took like 6 months to feel back to normal again.

  9. lordorbit

Did you store it in garage or attic? I own stuff that I didn’t use for almost a decade and it doesn’t look that bad.

  10. eddieltu

Not anymore. Maybe thinking of buying a Quest 3 to replace my original Quest.

  11. Slothcom_eMemes

I used to like watching tv and movies in my quest 3 but then I got an OLED monitor and haven’t touched it since.

  12. StormKiller1

    Same as yours.
I sold my headset years ago.

  13. Heartic97

VR is really cool for a moment, but I feel like it’s not quite convenient and comfortable enough yet

  14. deathtothescalpers

Were you eating Doritos last time you played and didn’t clean the cloth strap?

  15. LogitUndone

Haha, sadly about that often. I’m actually looking to sell my Valve Index. It’s clean, no spiders last I checked… “Like new” condition on everything. I simply don’t use it enough and don’t have a dedicated space to keep it setup in. If I lived in Arizona or somewhere similar where I have 4+ bedrooms, one with a massive open space that I could use as a gaming room 24-7 I’d probably keep and use it more often.

  16. HankThrill69420

Looks like a wolf spider. poor girl

  17. Legitimate_Earth_

You mean how often do you clean?

  18. KabosuCheemz

Just enough to watch VRLATINA once in awhile.

  19. Redditheadsarehot

There’s a difference in not using something for a while and just having a dirty closet.

  20. Meatslinger

Mine basically just plays Beat Saber, and I only really do that for the workout, not even for any kind of deep enjoyment of the game. It’s just an excuse to get active for a while, and the gamification elements help encourage me to keep going.

I wish I had more reasons to get into VR, but so many VR enabled titles are still just so clunky that it’s not worth the literal headache or trying to get the thing to sit comfortably on my head. Not to mention how many times I’ll get things set up on my computer, go to the living room (only area with enough space for roomscale stuff), try to start the app, and them SteamVR shits the bed, either crashing obviously or just misbehaving, like opening the app but being completely unresponsive to head movement or the controllers. Cue ten minutes of troubleshooting why it worked fine yesterday and doesn’t today, restarting both computer and headset, reinstalling SteamVR (sometimes), and finally just going, “This is bullshit; I’ll just do something else.”

Try Walkabout Mini Golf once. You’ll likely play it everyday.

  22. Less often than I’d like. I have a 1st gen Rift, so it’s pretty outdated. I wear glasses but don’t have prescription lenses for the unit, so wearing the headset is uncomfortable, and the space required for it is a bit much for my current living space. I want to upgrade, but everything is still very expensive and nearly as cumbersome as what im using now. The market for games isn’t as big as I would like, either. After Half-Life: Alex, I haven’t heard much about games in VR that felt like “real” games, as everything is very gimmicky or short.

I really, truly love the VR experience, but it doesn’t feel like it’s growing since I first got into it, and the user base seems unlikely to grow until it does.

  23. Daily for me, my PC’s primary purpose is to drive PCVR and my recent upgrade to a 9070 xt was also driven by VR being so demanding in the VRAM department. My 3070 Ti was forcing too much compromise.

But yeah, putting any VR hardware in a box for a long time is gonna be a bad time. At least you can get some money for the base stations.

  24. A-OKisk

I think about playing often, but then I remember I’ll only be able to play for 20-30 min before motion sickness sets in. 😞

  25. MrPotts0970

Remember when Zuckerberg said in a few years businesses would be working from them in virtual offices? Lmao

  26. williamjseim

i bought oculus rift 2 used it for 3 months and then never touched it again

  27. Beautiful-Sky-2024

I would literally die if I see a spider in/near the headset

  28. Righteous_Iconoclast

Pretty much never. After I moved, I still haven’t setup the sensors again because proper wall mounting requires more effort than I care to give, and there’s no way for me to mount them in my current apt with a half-decent setup to keep permanently. The real kicker for me though was always needing to wear my contacts in order to play (horribly near-sighted). Since I rarely wear them, it was always another nuisance to undergo if I want to play.

  29. Asleeper135

I just haven’t found many decent games for it. Sim titles are mostly really good, but I haven’t played any of those in a while, and all but a handful of the others I’ve tried have felt like glorified mobile games. Beat Saber is pretty great, but I just got tired of it. What’s good in VR is really good, but there isn’t that much of it.

  30. Colddeath712

The problem is that there arent enough quality vr games

  31. PinkamenaVTR2

Only use it for beatsaber occasionally on weekends

only reason i use my PS4, if i had VR on pc i wouldnt use it at all

  32. Maelfic

Never bought one because this post is the norm

  33. statellyfall

For gaming basically never. To watch things a few times a month. I don’t get headaches or eye strain thankfully. Videos in VR even MR are elite.

  34. maybeidontexistever

    That’s easy, never, i don’t have one.

  35. YoloRaj

And here I was thinking about getting a vr headset.
