I remember when i was finishing off dino’s gigs i decided to read what they entailed, it was fine until i got to this one, when i read it i thought i was seeing things but no, an actually good person in night city and. We are supposed to turn them into a corpo puppet just for doing something in the privacy of their home. I remember completing the gig but then feeling like such a shitheel i decided to reset to before i did it, rewards be dammed, anyone else do something like this?

Thats just called Role Play my friend. Your role playing your V as a morally upright merc.
Most of the time I do the job I’m paid to do. I’m a merc not a moralizer.
That’s where I just headcanon that my V warns her of it all first, so it’s a trap
Im Arasaka dropout. I kill for coin and spare those braindance chooms everybody kills. I dont do morals. NC deserves me.
This gig physically pained me to do. God forbid a woman likes sex. There is a difference between calling out greedy corpos for their shit and invading someones privacy and releasing footage of them having sex with someone. Honestly, this would just put me on her side even more. Fuck those copros.
I need them eddies man, I do all the gigs.
Well I just like playing the game so I do all the stuff that the game lets you do
As a compromise, I use a pax equipped handgun to finish the job without killing the guards.
Huh, this makes me want a mod that unlocks all a Fixer’s gigs at once so that none of them are locked behind others gigs’ completion. Otherwise, you really risk cutting yourself out of content.
I only did it for completion…
I find every Eddie morally agreeable
Yes.
In my first playthrough I did maybe couple of gigs, this playthrough I did 90% of them. This time I decided to start doing them and earning some serious money (if you complete most of them you can get around 1 million eddies) for decent guns, chrome, cars and apartments. And to my surprise, many of them are actually interesting, there is some lore behind them, it’s not just “go there, kill this guy, get out” type of mission. My favourite part of gigs were the ones in which you can make a choice – e.g. kill a corpo who ran over innocent girl or let her go in exchange for money. Not to mention Johnny’s comments are absolutely amazing sometimes.
I relish the ones that do, but I am largely unsympathetic to almost anyone I have to take out in the game. I do try to drop them non-lethally and ship them off instead of killing if I can, but that’s my way of playing. In some cases, shipping them off is worse. There are a few exceptions of people who flat out need to die in that game.
Giggity
i will kill anyone and anything for eddies my V has no soul lmao
I do every gig regardless of the morality of it. But I kinda wished this gig had one of those alternative endings on which you talk with the affected person.
Like that other Dino gig on which you can convince a guy to fake his death and leave NC instead of killing him or the one with the guy in the trunk that you can set free for more money.
It would have been a nice addition that you could find this woman somewhere inside the compound and warn her, with her paying you back to compensate the lost eddies.
If that only mattered in the game mechanics, that would be nova.
I do as well but my moral compass points all over the place
I really appreciated all of the Phantom Liberty gigs because they pretty much all have moral dilemmas, and give you an option to take alternatives rather than just not doing the quest. The black market athletics training facility was a real tough one. Same with the merc who went cyberpsycho but we find after he’s stripped all his chrome and is no longer a threat to anyone.
If the police gave out items, they would fill the city with bodies.
But then you would be locked out of almost all of the gigs since fixers only give you a new batch once one is complete?
I don’t kill unless I have to or the target is scum (it’s N.C so that’s like most of them). If it’s just a gig to retrieve something. I’ll sneak in and knock goons unconscious if I’m caught.
I don’t care about why they want the data. That’s not my business. Just give me my eddies.
Nah I do them all, V is Night City’s top merc and he always gets the job done.
It’s a role playing game, you wanna be a morally righteous merc in a fucked up city, then it’s all up to you.
I tend to operate in what you might call a morally fluid manner.
Nah I do them all but I can see why you’d pick and choose based on morals, it might help with the immersion
I do it all for the nookie
shit i just look to see if i need to kill or not. might start reading more lol
I’m a literal merc, fuck morality. Unless it’s for Son Mi.
Nah, screw it
Have you seen prices in implant. The stuff is hilarious. Don’t get me started on quick hacks for a net runner build.
I will take a pocket money on the street to afford new cyber deck
I RP my V as a morally bankrupt opportunist out for as much money and fame as possible, no job too questionable.
I do all of the gigs EVERY SINGLE TIME I play the game
I did everything on my 1st playthrough. Now I’m just doing things I find enjoyable without a moral compass
I never read the gigs background anymore. My V pretends to just do what has to be done. Few gigs I go with my guy, like shooting Freddie so his dad sees him dead.
Morals? In night city?
The quest has an optional objective to be sneaky stealthy so I alert the guard on purpose before booking it out of there without completing the quest so I sorta headcannoned that because of my obvious intrusion of the area has alerted her that there might be something afoot.
You can fuck up a lot of ones you disagree with.
Though often if you investigate you find that its a shit world and everyone is morally compromised anyway.
V doesn’t get a lot of actual chances to be genuinely evil, or enact long-lasting good for that matter.
Systems are too big and entrenched for any individual to enact lasting change. Fuck, even daddy Saka himself probably couldn’t unfuck much if he suddenly turned into a saint.
no morals, max cred, and a millionaire. just enjoy zeroing anyone and anything and getting that xp so I can zero em faster and with more brutality than ever
Depends on how I’m rping in the game. Like if I’m doing a dirtbag playthrough I’ll do any gig, but if I’m doing a moral playthrough I’ll only do certain gigs or turn down gigs. It’s all about how you go about it choom.
Can I just go play at the party and leave without recording anything?
That would be a hard no for me. Fuck corporations in this game and in real life.
Im on my first playthrough and haven’t seen this yet. Late game?
Nope. You are doing what’s called role playing. Have fun, and don’t feel like you have to do all the gigs.
Would fucking even be that much of a problem? Like even in our somewhat more puritan moralistic society we’ve re-elected open nazis and pedophiles
I might no need the ennies but i am bored!
Meh, eddies are eddies.
ill do anything for eddies. 20ED is 20ED
Honestly the only morally questionable gig is the one where Regina wants you to cap a random chick who just set up a small gambling parlor close to her office, as if Watson wasn’t already infested with gang members. Reading the shards I actually kinda felt bad since it was clear she was just a small time street punk, sorta like V in the Streetkid intro
# “If You Gotta Kill, Kill.. If you Gotta Burn It All to the Ground, Then Let It Burn…”
Wait, I thought I was stealing the footage they were blackmailing her with, not stealing the footage to blackmail her. Shit. Guess I’m skipping that one from now on.
