At the end of the day I enjoyed parts of cold war zombies but yeah somehow we have lost the sauce and the specialness of zombies is changed or gone.
I think it’s less the gameplay and more the setting maps and overall feeling of the experience.

We’re tired of brutes. We’re tired of armor systems and salvage and excess visual clutter. We’re tired of “Easter eggs” that are literally just story missions for lore and nothing extra special anymore. We’re tired of getting to round 100 and feeling like we accomplished nothing. I mean treyarch really added all this shit and the game is easier. It’s just clutter, that’s all it is. The simplicity of zombies and having to almost stumble upon lore at times is what made the franchise great. The dark color palette and the grittiness and let’s face it: being two tapped on round 4 by not knowing a walker’s around the corner is all *what we miss*.
Yes, we can “just go play it bro🥀”, but it’s not a bad thing for wanting an upscaled remaster. We’re not asking for much here lmao.

I’m just glad we have bo3 w/ Mods. It was made at the leap in graphics quality and still maintained the core loop. Look I was a big supporter of modern zombies but after some time I realized bo3 will forever be the peak. With map creation forever, it’ll never die.

It’s sad but everything changes whether you like it or not. New games are released old ones are forgotten. Server populations die out, then they are closed. Trends shift and new games replace old ones. I like the old zombies more too but we can’t be blinded by the past releases and be angry/disappointed when the new thing comes and it’s nothing like it was before. we just have to except it or we will be disappointed everytime something is released. Try out the new games without comparing them to what was maybe then you will enjoy them.
