Like dude i spent way to much time tryna figure this out until i caved and searched up the answer. I feel like sometimes they should add more clues. Or im just a 0 intelligence build irl.

This stupid place. Why didn’t they just lock the door before the associated mission?
My first couple of times through the game, I discovered this area before the mission. (because I’d buy the apartment before the mission and explore the building.) I’d find the button in the other room, push it, nothing would happen, find this machine, go back push the button, think something is wrong and go on the internet to discover that it’s a mission I haven’t done yet.
The big problem here is that if you do discover this place and push the button in the other room before the mission, when the mission does actually occur and you get like 50m away from the apartment, all the lines of dialogue will play all at once over each other. So you get a phone call, johnny and V all speaking at the same time. Clusterfuck of words just spewed at you.
This is my first run where I remembered not to push the button.

Lmaoo i found the button first thing in the room. Thought it might be an alarm/ panic button and turned it off and then continued to have no idea how to open the hidden room for like 5 minutes 💀

Yeah, as soon as I found the button, I ran off and talked to Npcs to get the proper dialog. I knew something was hidden there. The lower floor or something. Nothing. Until a mission brought me there.

First thing I thought was to move the machine, so I was walking around it until I figured this out

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this location. Is it phantom liberty? If so, that would explain it, I don’t have phantom liberty.

If you scan it, it shows where the button to open it is.
