Curious to know the break down of people owning a handheld that actually taking them outside the house. Portal was perfect for me because I just needed to move around the house when tv is tied up.

People seeing the Xbox Ally as a handheld Xbox are falling hard for the whole “everything’s an Xbox” marketing. The Ally is still a handheld PC that runs PC games, just with some Xbox branding and an optimized OS for gaming. It isn’t running Xbox games, it’s still the PC versions. They were working o their own actual handheld, but that was put on hold indefinitely.
I’m not saying it’s a bad device, and I’m probably going to get one to replace my current Ally, but seeing it as on par with a Switch 2 is very much a stretch.

I just want a decent clamshell designed one. It doesn’t have to be at the level of the steam deck. It doesn’t have to have a huge screen. I just want the convenience of my 3DS with some new titles.
My phone is smaller than the 3DS and running Resident Evil VIII, and Assassin’s Creed. You can’t convince me it’s not doable

Everybody and their momma talking about the Sony Portal in this meme but isn’t the Steam getting a bit old as far as tech goes?
Not trying to crap on them, it seems to be the best/efficient for steam games but no rhyme or reason for a stream deck 2 or pro version. They released an oled version more than a year after it’s release so saying they’re waiting for tech to get better or whatever seems like a cop out

Do you mean the handheld gen is back again? Handhelds explode like every decade and go back to sleep again. In the early 2000s, there were different game boys, different variations of PSP, ngage, different versions of the DS,and so on depending on the country.

I love moonlight and Apollo on my phone and iPad. It’s essentially streaming the game to those devices from my PC but the latency is imperceptible. More people need to look into it cuz it saved me from buying a steam deck lol

People ragging on the ps portal acting like the market for handhelds isn’t full of people who are going to also own a ps5. The portal fulfils a different use case to a regular handheld, it’s honestly best for multi gamer households since it gives you flexibility on where you can play the playstation.
