After that showcase I would’ve been there day one if it was $60 but $80 for fucks sake microsoft.
Shit if the game was good enough I could’ve even been convinced for $70.
But I cannot in good conscience pay almost $100 dollars for one game. (Maybe if it was new vegas 2)

This will probably just push more people to playing it for $15 on Game Pass.
Which I imagine Microsoft will see as a win anyway.
CicerosBalls
Great choice considering the first game was fantastically mediocre. It’s clear they are doing this to make purchasing individual games unpalatable in order to push you to game pass
No fucking thanks
MiddleSecurity8734
Well, that changed my mind in buying it at release. I’ll buy it at half price.
hevahavahan
I’ll see you in discount, no way in hell I’m paying 80.
danmanx
I love TOW1. I’ll be waiting to play then until it’s cheaper. Not paying $80.

Thank you for saving me £80

Charging 80 for this after the first game is wild.

I love Obsidian but they are the last devs that should be charging 80$, in fact the perfect example of devs and games that shouldnt be $80. Charging $80 for 90+ review score GOTY nominees and GTA 6 is one thing. No one is buying games like Avowed and Outer Worlds for $80.
Some devs can get away with $80 like: Fromsoft, Capcom, Sega, Insomniac, Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Sports Games etc. Obsidian is not one of those devs.

“if we increase the cost of our games at retail, more will say fuck it and subscribe to GP!”
fuck subscription gaming. I’ll wait for a sale that matches whatever I feel the fun-value is for me.
Ctitical1nstinct
Alright well this just went from a game I’d maybe buy at launch to a game I’ll just wait for 2 years and buy for $10 or less on a steam sale with all of the dlc.
Lo_jak
They underestimate my gaming backlog and ability to keep playing the same games until a sale comes around. There are few games that I would part with $80 for and this isn’t one of them.
LastDunedain
Fucking oof. Throwing Obsidian straight under the bus here, with tOW1’s warmish reception, tOW2 needs support to succeed.
redpandafire
Ah so this is how they’ll justify laying off another 300 employees.

$80 = £60, and yet we have to pay £70 for this shit in the UK, thanks microsoft.

Man the first one wasn’t even worth 60 it’s a bold strategy, Cotton.

If Outer Worlds 1 is any indication, we should really be paying the first $40 and then just giving them an IOU for the last $40, because that’s how the game was. I swear the second half of that game never made it out of Alpha.
nirvahnah
Hard pass. Won’t even buy on discount just on principle. Fuck studios that do this. Yall were a profitable company at $60 just a few years ago, you’re telling me your costs to produce mediocre games have increased so much in that time you need to increase costs by 30% to keep safe margins? FOH.
