Great, now the game is going to get dragged unwillingly into the culture war BS.

  2. TheBlazingFire123

How could you claim the refused to hire non French when the lead writer is Asian

  3. Decent-Quit8600

God, can’t these people just be happy to have a good game, without imbecilic fools trying to say they are racist? I swear, people like these “oh mah feelings” need to get a goddamn life

  4. Tawxif_iq

A good game is a good game. Thats it. Leave it at that. I dont care if humans or monkeys worked on it. I wanna play a good video game.

  5. Glum-Supermarket1274

Wasnt this game’s gameplay animation team done in korea or something? This is a pretty strong accusations when they have openly worked with asian teams.

  6. Responsible_Law3761

I remember multiple progressive people having a meltdown because the cast wasn’t “diverse”, you know despite Lune lol

  7. Too bad they still made all their devs work 16 hours days for months. But hey, diversity!

  8. ShambolicPaul

I’d rather they just released a YouTube video of the whole studio pointing and laughing and eating cake.

  9. siraliases

i dont think the people making the allegations have ever met french people

this may have saved a lot of people from having to meet them

  10. acknowledging these idiots and trying to defend yourself already puts you in a losing position. you have to ignore them and these “journalists”..

  11. Uzumaki514

They waited a couple of months to post this. They did not want to negatively affect the sales.

This absolute garbage should not be an article, it is pure rage bait. The idea that I can fking GOAD media outlets into writing bullshit by saying some completely untrue controversial shit is astounding to me. The laziness has never amazed me more than it currently does

  13. madagreement

**Really, this game and the story behind its creation are so amazing (and as a French person, that makes me twice as happy) that some people just** ***had*** **to invent problems or controversies for attention. Disappointing, to say the least.**

Ohoho but everyone look, they have proof! [Here it is!](https://x.com/kingkittan91/status/1930258569347150161/photo/1)

An anonymous, censored discord message. That surely is unquestionably true, right? No way that could be faked, right? Nobody in this day and age would ever lie on the internet.

I particularly love the fact that if you translate it, they’re saying that the company refused their CV and “hired a white person shortly after”. Lmao, what, did they camp the HR department?

    This is obvious bullshit

  15. Was bound to happen at some point, I’m actually surprised it took that long for someone to find an angle on how to start a toxic discussion around the game on twitter for shit and giggles. It will now be amplified everywhere by algorithms on social media, reported on, things will be distorted and people will argue their political ideology is the right one.

  16. darryledw

The people complaining are an absolute plague on the gaming industry, all they want is control and more ways to push their ideologies, they see gaming as a platform to do that and don’t care about just making good games.

If some studio remade Big Rigs exactly the same way but the new devs tweeted something that aligned with one of their political beliefs they would rate it 10/10 (they wouldn’t actually play it though, these people don’t actually play games)

  17. Corvo_Attano-

Oh my fuckin god can we not do this now? Baseless shitty culture war bs every. fucking. time.

  18. Tyrayentali

So according to source, those “racist allegations” about this game come from a singular random Twitter user with less than 800 likes on their post, which has already been community noted.

I understand if they devs might feel insulted by it, but this is really a non-issue and they really shouldn’t even entertain it this much, lmao. I personally haven’t seen a singular instance of such allegations anywhere, at all. E33 has been one of the most well received games in the past decade. Which is rare these days, since it is mostly the actually racist crowds who come crying as soon as a black person is anywhere in eyesight.

  19. All I know is the dev team definitely had a thing for feet.

  20. bigbadchief

    >The studio’s statement comes roughly a day after an unnamed Twitter user levied accusations that the company refused to hire non-French, minorities.

Ok so some rando on twitter made shit up, probably.

  21. Anansispider

I knew this game was going to get used for culture war bullshit.

  22. AshyLarry25

Uh oh tolerance and respect? A certain subsection of online people aren’t going to like that…
