I’m not a huge RE fan. I played very little of the old games. I played 7 and didn’t like it too much. Played Village thought it was pretty good but overstayed its welcome and kinda got worse the longer it went on.
Then I played the RE4 Remake on the hard difficulty and it genuinely is a contender for at the very least the top 5 games I’ve ever played in my life. In fact, I’d describe it so uniquely good that there is not a third person survival horror/shooter game that comes even close to being in the same league as it in terms of how good and polished it is.
All that said, if 9 is roughly in the same vein as the RE4 Remake, this might genuinely be the most hype game reveal for me for anything that’s not a Fromsoft title.

If the Leon rumors are true Grace will likely be Ashleys counterpart as the damsel in distress. RE4R was huge it makes sense to repeat that formula.
Also random thoughts: Guy in the chair sounds straight out of RE4 and could that be an older Leon we are hearing saying hes “seen some shit”….

Surprising, I assumed the open world would delay this game to mid to late 2026, if not 2027. I guess Capcom whiplashes the devs to go faster, to avoid GTA6. Just bring me bearded Leon and the RE4 gunplay + a “nemesis” and a merchant with decent AI roaming around the open world. If they include Jill as the duo of Leon, optional coo-op while somehow keeping the “mansion” gameplay in a openworld (pick key, go back, unlock, puzzle, pick another key, puzzle, etc), like a 3D metroidvania or something, that will be the dream RE game… BUT, I don’t think the engine is ready for this

No game play at all is a joke to me. As much as I want to feel hyped for more RE this just didn’t do it for me. I’ve played them all except zero and outbreak so maybe I’m not super duper lore fan. I feel the hotel setting boring if that is where the main game is located. Silent Hill remake had me in enough hotels
