Hey guys, just wanted to share a personal achievement, the PC you see in the pictures is something I built entirely by myself. What makes it even more special is that I managed to do it all with my own effort. It feels surreal, especially considering I was coming from an old third gen i5 laptop with integrated graphics that could barely run anything.
I saved up money by selling candy and snacks at school, which surprisingly brought in more than I expected, and I also did some freelance working with IT stuff, which I like the most. Every bit I earned went straight into building this setup, even though the temptation to spend it elsewhere was real. After about a year and a half of saving, I finally had enough to make it happen. Being able to run my audio softwares (DAWs) and most games feels "illegal", I can't explain š
Even though I sometimes wonder if I shouldāve gone for a laptop since itād be more practical for me, I donāt regret it at all. Building this desktop was cool, but I would choose a laptop instead.
I put everything together last tuesday on my own, so donāt expect the cleanest build ever, it was my first time. Here are the specs:
Motherboard: B650M-E WIFI ASUS TUF
CPU: Ryzen 7 7700
RAM: 1x 16GB XPG Caster 6000MHz CL30 (consider 2 sticks because I'll add the other one as soon as I got more $)
GPU: GTX 1660 Super ASUS TUF
Storage: 1TB Kingston NV3
PSU: XPG Core Reactor 850W
Cooler: Custom AIO which I built with a friend, most parts from Aliexpress
Fans: 4x Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mm
Thanks for reading! If youāve got any tips about BIOS settings, performance tweaks or anything I can improve, feel free to share. My mom's kinda mad that Iāve been spending too much time on it lately, but Iām just so hyped to finally have something powerful enough.

Looks cooler than my first rig when I was your age!
My first case was a SPEC-02 from Corsair, and a Core 2 Quad was my cpu. I know the feeling of being surprised to run stuff š
Erm you washed alot of cars or mowed alot of lawns bro šš or delivered a shit ton of papers fairplay my dude ! Also looks awesome.

Aber deine ist krass
Nice job champ!
If I was your age with such motivation for moneymaking, I’d definitely master digital art or 3D modelling, so you could make some good money from commission works. Remember there’s always people willing to spend an extra to get whatever’s they want materialized in a digital format. This is just the beginning little bro, better, greater things are waiting ahead!
Looks good! A lot better than what I was using as a pc at 13! Congrats on putting in the work to get it! Should run most games fairly well!
Fuck yeah. Get after it kid. Enjoy it bro.
Cool bro, I hope my kids will be like you, working and saving for his dreams!
It’s a decent machine, a vit weird combo of the 7700x with a 1660S but I guess you can always upgrade later.
Pro-tip, ram modules are sold in pair because since they came out of the same ‘batch’ in production they are much more likely to work well in tandem, so you should sell your current 16gb and buy a 2x16gb kit instead of just ‘adding’ another 16gb, which could be fine, or not.
Fyi, am5 actually does dubble rate with a single stick due to how it’s channeled, the benefits of having 2 sticks is very small.
Last tip, enjoy your rig! I prefer building then using a pc, I’m a senior integration developer btw. Keep up the good work, there’s passion and future in software development!
Congratulations! You are now more qualified than most IT Help Desk workers.
Good job brother
Congratulation bro… Keep it up
Nice build man. I wish i had money when i was 13 (26 years ago…) to build such a neat PC.
Well done! The hardest part is getting that initial platform up and running. So much easier when you just have to think about buying that second RAM stick or upgrading the GPU down the line
Amazing man! Looks great! Remember building my first PC. Itās the one I still use today about 3-4 years later
Well done young G
Hell yeah man, congrats! Looks great!
1660 super is a work horse. iāve only heard good things. enjoy!
A truly wholesome moment. Congrats bro be proud!
Good job young man!!! Feels good to earn something doesnāt it? š
One of us, one of us, one of us…
Congrats, enjoy!
Nice!
gratz! that cpu is pretty good, u can upgrade that gpu without worrying about any bottlenecks if you play at 1080p and that psu has enough power for it. when u get another stick of ram, make sure to get the exact same one you already have.
turn on XMP in the bios so the ram is running at its advertised speed.
lucky bastard. i’m still stuck with my shitty $800 gaming laptop. everything crashes.
you couldve gotten an aircooler and used the saved up money for a better gpu
well⦠at least you wont be hitting any cpu bottlenecks
That’s great.Ā Congrats.
In BIOS, enable Precision Boost Overdrive, enable Expo 2 so your ram runs at full speed, enable resizeable bar. Download msi afterburner because it gives you an overlay over games that you can set up to show cpu and gpu temps and usage.
Enjoy!
I donāt think I knew that gaming pcs existed when I was 13
Hard work pays off! Enjoy it bro! Itās your time to shine!š
Congrats bro!
Impressive young one!!! I had to wait until my 50’s to build my first one, and you did a way better job than I did!
GPU Support bracket this instant! I can already see the sag from the photos you’ve shared. These coolers can get stupid heavy.
Amazing build. Just something I learn for life: never put expensive electronics on your bed. Bad idea.
Nice pc but make sure to clean out the fans every 6-9 months or it will be fucked up
same bro
Itās so good bro, Make things with your own handsš„
Congrats! Thatās awesome! Using your own money to buy something like this makes it feel even better. Build looks really nice too!
My first pc had gtx 1660, its a good GPU for entry lvl pc
Enjoy the pc
Interesting build bro š¤ššÆ
850W PSU, 1 stick of RAM, 1660 Super, Custom AiO loop, what else could you want??
Congratulations dude!!
Thatās awesome man, I bought/built my first PC when I was 14 and it had an eventual domino effect into the career I want to go into today! (IT work) enjoy the fruits of your labor! You deserve it
Congrats mate!!!
Congrats dude. I wish I was hustling this hard when I was 13
Frick yeah. Go hard homie
Gratz brother, great job.
