For months now my work laptop keeps bugging me to log back into OneDrive to enable offline mode. I refuse.

At this point, it’s the whole OS that’s the problem.

Windows 11 is actually a pretty nice OS if you just take the time to de-Microsoft it.

  4. just disable it in startup and never think about it again, it’s really not hard

Is there a way to disable one drive? I hate it so much.

Wait until for cosmic reasons your synced files with Onedrive got that little box of hell that looks like an archive and then you can’t use your files anymore.

And I won’t speak about « Add shortcut to Onedrive. » with Sharepoint. This is pure evil.

  7. Serial_Psychosis

I’m pretty sure you can just uninstall it

File backup systems are so basic to understand and use lmao

Bring it on for day 6 of reposting this Meme

  10. Fuck onedrive fuck recall fuck windows 11.

I 100% agree with this meme.

I ran some crazy big script from GitHub on my main gaming PC at home and it not only removed all of Microsoft’s bloatware. But it marks it in the registry as not required as well so it doesn’t just reappear one day after a Windows update.

Oh Lord Gaben the Wise, deliver unto us a fully realised SteamOS desktop solution so thou can escape the vile, wretched grasp of Microsoft so to set us free of tyranny.

You know what I’m gonna say…

I run a start up script disabling it and Cortana

Microsoft and one drive can fuck themselves. I’ve said no multiple times yet last time they threw my GTA save file in one drive, it borked, and I lost my entire save file for a 2nd fuckign time

Due to Microshaft’s shitty security measures, I can’t sign into Windows 11 with my Microsoft account, which resulted in me having to make a local account. I’m thankful for Microsoft’s incompetent as local accounts are far better.

I must say, I pay for Microsoft 365 or whatever it’s called now, but having 1TB of cloud storage that syncs between your devices automatically is pretty nice. However I have friends who were just using the free variant and it caused way to many issues to justify it’s existence.

  17. Even more retarded is thatwhen you pay for it and start to use it, it only syncs your documents, dedktop and pic folders. Whyyyyyyyy?????

There is no button to choose what to sync additionally.

    Such retarded product.

  18. I’ve been forced to switch to it at work and it’s a fucking nightmare figuring out whether a file is shared or a copy is being sent or whatever. I’ve never explicitly chosen to share a file, yet I keep getting notifications that I’m doing so with files I’ve emailed (apparent) copies to.

The ongoing decisions by developers to make software “seamless” in a way that makes the functions essentially hidden to users is driving me up the wall.

I can’t buy a larger storage because I’m not in the same country as my MS account is registered in, and I need to keep it that way for reasons, but it keeps syncing some random shit that I absolutely don’t need in a cloud, and bugging me to buy more storage. Ok bud, gladly, but the link you offer me says I can’t do it. I’m trying to unsync the folders to rid myself of this problem but the design is unbelievably asshole and it’s easier to dismiss a low space warning every now and then than to figure out how to set up the folders for OneDrive.

  20. Does anyone else have the issue that once OneDrive starts up once, every PowerShell module you ever try to install from that point on will NEVER be discoverable because the Powershell environment isn’t allowed to look outside OneDrive but OneDrive won’t actually update properly.

    Unpopular opinion onedrive is useful.
I have a desktop and a laptop, and I save scripts and pdfs files all the time for uni, either in my laptop or in my desktop. Having a folder in my computer easily synced with my other computer is great
